I like it....alot! I think it is a safe design but looks like a BMW. Maybe it's the color- IDK. I do hate the dash layout, at least the ones they have now.

Exactly. It looks like a hybrid between a Hyundai and a BMW. Harmonious is not a word that comes to mind.

Re: 2008 Accord completely without camo ...

Very ugly. Does not resemble any past Accords. Infact, the only Honda design language is the front end which resembles the Ridgeline. But that is not a good thing.

Like others mentioned, it looks like the love child of a BMW (sides) and a Hyundai (rear). Honda has gone from sensible to monstrous. GM should try make sure that they beat the Accord on features as this would be a golden opportunity to reclaim lost market share.

Re: 2008 Accord completely without camo ...

I can't remember Honda ever having a great design language across the board, and this Accord certainly doesn't introduce one. It's a lot more square and safe as opposed to the Civic styling.

From the current Accord, it's an improvement in the sedan department, but the bigger success is the coupe. The coupe has a nice understated look to it. Though, I don't really like the underbite grille treatment.

They seem to have let Acura runaway with the styling distinction and expressiveness, whereas this car is just kind of boring looking. Nice enough, but forgettable.

I thought it was Hyundai's job to steal design cues from others, not the other way around.

Yeah, but the previous generation Accords had very sensible, simple and clean designs -

4th generation

5th generation

6th generation

You can see the natural progression in the evolution of design. To me, it would have been fairly easy to improve upon these designs to arrive at the 21st century version because they're so clean and pleasing to the eye. It's almost like you could do no wrong. Instead, Honda went off on a tangent and came out with something utterly ugly.

Re: 2008 Accord completely without camo ...

what an ugly car! This'll be a tough sell next to the new Malibu IMO. The headlights are stretched way too much for one.

I don't know if it'll sell or not, I have no idea what it's like to be ugly. Maybe Fordrules can help us out with that one.

On 2nd look, the coupe doesn't look bad at all. It's just the sedan that got hit with the ugly stick.

Re: 2008 Accord completely without camo ...

The front looks like the new Lancer's.

I like the coupe's rear.

Overall, it's not bad. Not too bland and not too aggressive.

An Accord is not supposed to look like an exotic car.

Re: 2008 Accord completely without camo ...

based on these pics it certainly won't top the class in either being a safe/boring design or in being a truly good looking car. the front end is horrible, the sides and rear questionable at best on the sedan, the coupe isn't as bad but definately isn't any better looking that Altima or G6 IMHO.

however, these will presumably still have Honda's reliability, resale value, fuel economy, acceptable performence numbers, and decent feature list. so i don't see them falling far, maybe down to Impala/Altima sales levels at worst.
