Re: 2007 Tundra Inventory Watch

I actually saw one driving around a couple days ago. From the back, they really look like the last-gen Chevy to me. MUCH bigger than the previous Tundra, though...definitely a full-size now. I'd still be partial to a Chevy (duh), but they look like decent trucks now for your average "full-size-truck" owner. It'll be interesting to see how they do in the market (since Nissan didn't seem to have too much luck with their Titan).

Excellent Thread HoosierRon!
Very kind of you to help Toyota when they are in such dire straights with the new Tundra.
Did you see the reduced rate financing Toyota is offering?
It's like - We'll pay you to take a Tundra off the lot.
Buy a Tundra - Get a Yaris for FREE?

OH MY GAWDDD!!! AHAHAHAHA!! TOYOTA IS HAVING TROUBLE SELLING ONE VEHICLE!!!

The only vehicles chevy has trouble moving is the Malibu, Uplander, Colorado, Monte Carlo, and trailblazer. Weve got this thing wrapped up ALREADY!

Hey, what do you say we get complacent again!! GREAT IDEA!!!

Re: 2007 Tundra Inventory Watch

Note that I am deliberately picking cities all over the country to confirm that lots are full and there are plenty of high end models available. There seem to be very few work trucks and standard cabs available.Given how price sensative that place in the market is, I do not see Toyota converting many contractors with what is on the lot. It seems that Toyota is not interested in making the Tundra a loss leader.

How do Chevy dealers fair with Silverado inventories?

I believe the claim was made elsewhere that Toyota sales were constrained by inventory limitations. Apparently that's not the case.

Chevrolet should have even higher inventories, considering that Chevy Silverado sales are so much higher than the Tundra.

Edit:

My hometown Chevy Dealer (DFW Metroplex, Big City) 47 Silverados:

http://www.vandergriffchevrolet.com/...=new-inventory

To HoosierRon's point, lots of models way below $30K; several LT1s for $25k and some work trucks for $20k.

Re: 2007 Tundra Inventory Watch

Ever think dealers could be having a lot of inventory so if they have a customer who wants a specific model it would be right on the lot?

Re: 2007 Tundra Inventory Watch

I passed by a Toyota dealership in El Paso and San Antonio for a trip this past weekend. I can tell you that I did see about 20 new Tundras at each dealership. I think some of these numbers are just weird.

BTW, did you guys know that Ford outsells Chevy and Dodge combined in El Paso?

That's possible, but we prefer the other school of thought that says no one wants any of them

I think that's part of HoosierRon's point... there doesn't seem to be a lot of choice in what's available.
