2006 Accords Trunk Design a Blatant perjury of CTS Design

I always thought that the CTS’s trunk is the most Fugly part of a controversial deisgn philosophy. Then on my morning commute today.. I say a new 2006 accord.. I could not believe my eyes to see it sporting a CTS trunk! Complete with a Cadillac light!!!

Outrageous!

Every time Honda makes a minor (or major) change to the Accord, the things multiply faster than rabbits. Happened last fall and again this year. I've seen at least 20 already. Gotta have the latest fashion (watch what happens in the spring with the new Camry as well).

I think the rear of the '06 Accord is classy. Most folks wouldn't guess Accord. And I barely see any resemblance to a CTS.

Are you sure?
They're similar around the license plate and with the light above it, but not the tail lights.

I'm not sure I see any design copy going on there either. The Accord rear end looks ugly to me, whereas the CTS looks good. You do have a point though, the light and lip where the light is positioned somewhat resembles the Caddy rear end, but other than that I'm not sure I see anything else.

See this light? Then look at the shape of the trunk lid top part... it does have the same exact CTS lines.. do not look at anything else

They aren't without similarities, but they aren't really anywhere near identical either. One of the main differences is that I actually like the way the CTS looks ....

Actually, it is closer to the TL's trunk than the CTS. The license plate lights are the same, the shape of the bumper is the same, the flat area on top of the bumper is the same, tail-lights are both LED, inserts around the plates are the same, etc.

And for the record, "perjury" means to lie under oath, so I don't understand how this is "blatant perjury"

I hate the way the Accord rear end looks.

I'm sure that 95% of the membership has no idea how to get a thread posted in Asian Competition and other forums without placing it first in "Suggest". I have no idea either. Fortunately, I haven't made a mistake, yet.

Maybe "Suggest A News" should be changed to simply "Suggest An Article" forum.
