06 Rav4 spy shots

Here are some pictures of the 06 Toyota Rav4. According to Motor Trend Toyota's 3.3 liter V6 will be one of the engines available.
http://forums.autoweek.com/thread.js...art=0&tstart=0 Personally I like everything except the front end but, that might change before it gets here this fall. What do you guys think?

Re: 06 Rav4 spy shots

I don't like the front but it does fit in with the Avalon style headlights they are using now. Does anyone else get a Toureg vibe from the rear?

Ugh. That misplaced on the front is so annoying.

The rest is ok, I guess. I wanna see the new Land Cruiser though.

Yes I also want to see a new Land Cruiser, but when are they going to release one?

Re: 06 Rav4 spy shots

I see quite a few elements of the Infiniti FX in it. As a whole it's ok but the grille placement doesn't jive well with me either.

Yes, I agree about the grille, but like I said this is the Japanese version, and Toyota may do something about the grille. I think it looks a little like the Toureg.

Re: 06 Rav4 spy shots

I think the grille is fine, though the badge should be centered vertically. It's the lights I have issues with--and the last foot of the back end seems...shrunken. It seems larger, too, which is a good think--closer to the CRV, it's main *** competitor.

Wow that thing looks bad, Also what is with not placing the emblem right in the middle of the grille? It doesn't make much sense why not to.

Now that you mention that I think you're right. Just move the emblem and it would look pretty good.

Re: 06 Rav4 spy shots

With the 3.3 L V-6 this "cute" ute will finally be taken seriously by people that want the tough sport utility look and the power to blow past most large SUV's, in a more compact manageable package. Hopefully the details will be fixed to give the RAV4 the "right" look.

Re: 06 Rav4 spy shots

This Rav4 is much more improved than the current model. At least this one if it's true will offer a V6 and give it a bit more muscle. Not bad tho overall.

Re: 06 Rav4 spy shots

Call me crazy but I liked the original RAV-4, didn't like the 2nd gen, and now am disgusted with the 3rd gen. The sides and back of the 3rd gen looks pretty good, but the pig snout is hideous. Looks-wise, GM, Ford, and Honda should be happy On second thought, I also thought the Chrysler 300's huge grill was hideous before it came out, so what do I know :p

The 3.3L V6 might just be what's needed to force GM to upgrade the !#$@ 3.4L thing in the Equinox...hopefully...
