    2011 Saab 9-1

NOTE I wrote the exact same thing in the Design Contest, but cut me some slack. Us teenagers don't have that much time these days.
I thought a new 9-1 would be great for Saab to hop back up on their feet. It's supposed to ride and feel like a car and get Sub-Compact Fuel Mileage, but has a high seating position, like in an SUV- so the driver feels in control. Notice the high roof.
Priced from $22,995-$28,599. I think it'd be pretty cool for the "just got my license, dude!" masses, no?

UPDATE: I revised Engine and model Lineup, so tell me how that works out.

    Models are:
    9-1 1.8t: 1.8L 175HP Ecotec Turbo
    9-1x BioPower: 1.8L 245HP BioPower Turbo Ecotec
9-1x Aero: 2.0L 265HP Ecotec Turbo. Bio-Power is expected to hit 50-60 MPG, while the rest are in the mid 30's- high 40's. All have 6 speed Sentronic Automatics and Manuals with Manual Mode.

Needs more hockey stick. Otherwise looks good, if not with a hint of BMW-esque flame surfacing.

Awesome. I don't like hatches, and this doesn't look like one, more like a wagon. The blacked-out a-pillar looks great. Really works well on this.

    Very nice.

What car did you use to convert into this?

I think I am seeing either the new VW Scirocco or the Ford Focus coupe concept that was a link in a recent Ford thread in the Ford section.

IF It's A Chevrolet & RWD, Don't ride in it!!!

ALL Chevy's NEED to be FWD/F-AWD!!!

    If it's a Toyota/Lexus/Scion, Don't ride in/drive it!!

I think the window line screams "Saab", so I used this:

It looks good, but I don't think it's a good Saab. It might be a little more realistic, i.e., look more like something GM would do, if you quickly changed it to look more like the ridiculous BMW X6.

    Re: 2011 Saab 9-1

    1. This definitely gets my no. 1 vote. I can't imagine anything better. Great concept, great execution.

    2. This is basically what Saab SHOULD build, and I guess Saab WILL build eventually.

    3. Indeed, the new Skodas look very much like Saabs should (regarding greenhouse/A-pillars), most chops I've seen use Skoda stuff to emulate what Saab is probably going to show us in the 9-5 (and has already shown us in the 9-4X and concepts.

    Re: 2011 Saab 9-1

PS. Your engine lineup seems pretty overkill for a car with "subcompact mileage". I'd start with the 1.6 turbo - low-power 150 HP, high-power 180 HP, and a hybrid with either the 1.6 turbo (I am not sure if turbos work well in serial hybrid applications), or regular 1.6, as the top-of-the-line application. Some super-duper Aero could come with the 2.0T.

For Europe, I'd add an engine putting out somewhere around 115HP (regular 1.6? upcoming smaller turbo?)
