What has happened to all the Mods?

When GMI was sold, there seemed to be a TON of Mods. As time has passed, the Mods from other forums have seemed to thin out of here considerably. Did they just go back to their sites after an initial surge here? Where did GMCSonoma and Shadams go? I'm really not complaining about the Mods that came from other sites, because I personally did not like them in here. The original guys have been missed though.

Re: What has happened to all the Mods?

There were no additional staff members ever added to assist in daily operation when AutoForums acquired GMI. Our staff level stayed the same.

There are a couple more members wearing the "Admin" title, but that is so they can access the Administration of the website forum software to perform the technical aspects of the site. Their purpose was never to do the type of work that I or any of the original staff members do.

As we made clear when the acquisition occurred; there was never an intention by AutoForums to change the daily operation of the site in any way. As you can see, no such changes have happened. I'm very happy that AutoForums has the site as the sale has, so far, done nothing but helped the site.

As for Shadams and other staff members, I cannot answer that (only they can). We don't require our staff members to be on the site all the time, so if their personal lives do not allow it, so be it.

Yea, I miss GMCSonoma's helpful advice, and Shadams tech experience.

MEDIOCRITY: It takes a lot less time, and most people won't notice the difference until it's too late.

There is a big hole missing in the GMI tech department. I miss both of them.

Not at all. AutoForums has nothing to do with the daily operation of GMI; it is all up to the staff and me. They are here to help with technical things (server issues, site redesigns, etc.).

Re: What has happened to all the Mods?

Just to let you guys know, I haven't felt an impact at all with what I do here since the changeover. Not one bit upfront, or behind the scenes.

Like NSAP wrote, sometimes mods just get too busy and leave - sometimes temporarily, other times permanently. Then others will join and add a new twist, like JoeT and his perspective from Down Under.

I remember names that go way back, like GeMiNi THRaSHeR.

Don't forget Mrs. Shadams. She always provided a good perspective.

I don't want to proffer any stereotypes, but........

If you lived in Omaha, you could work at the meat packing plant and bring home a fine buxom wench.

As it is, you're stuck with a population of soft-spoken, statuesque, wafer-thin, gorgeous in lingerie, twice-a-week showers with abundant underarm hair French women.

We all make choices.

All there are here are tree huggin', dope smokin,' protest sign carryin', America haters that don't bathe very often.

No wonder the coneheads came from France.

Excuse me, gotta clean the treehouse.
