Is it time to end the Ignomy of Level 1 Membership?

Last night I read through a 100 post thread which was essentially taken over by 1 well-known poster.

Nearly every post in the thread was a response to her or his ludicrous anti-GM statements.

This morning, I see one of the few "Level 1" members make a reasonable post.

Is it time to remove the Level 1 stigma?

If we're going to have "you know who" spelling incoherently, bashing GM and torpedoing numerous threads to the murky depths, and doing so with impunity,

Isn't it time to give the other folks that have stuck around a second shot without the Level 1 stigma?

Maybe on a case by case basis?

Something just doesn't seem equitable.
And no, I'm not gunning for Level 1 membership either.

Thanks for looking into this.

Re: Is it time to end the Ignomy of Level 1 Membership?

I don't see anyone being elevated to Level 1 anymore. So the thing is kinda pointless.

BTW how does someone ruin a 100 post thread?

I'll have to find the thread.
It's pretty amazing.
Almost every post in the thread was directed at one poster with a demonstrable anti-gm bias and an almost complete lack of proper grammar and spelling. Or said person responding with something even more ridiculous.

The point of the thread was lost at about post #4.

The poster you are referring to has been taken care of.

Level I hasn't been used recently because it hasn't been needed.

Re: Is it time to end the Ignomy of Level 1 Membership?

Level 1 is a restricted membership that is meant to be a slap on the hand. These posters do little more than stir up trouble here at GMI and want nothing more to belittle members and GM. If they continue on their previous posting, they eventually get banned.

It work pretty well and I think it needs to be enforced. It weeds out the useless and corrects the posters who need an "adjustment".
