New Year...New Lease on Level 1 Members?

Since it is a new year why not allow some of the Level 1 Members their old memberships back?

You can ALWAYS reverse it if it doesn't work out.

I am willing to bet that a lot of these Level 1 members would add to the group as a whole now.

I was just thinking it would be a nice gesture on the Staff's part here.

Is that such a 'bad idea'?

Re: New Year...New Lease on Level 1 Members?

It is approaching review time for the Level I people, so changes will likely be coming. We haven't had to add any Level I members in months, so that is a plus.

Well, that is cool.
I just never have seen anyone 'come back' from Level 1.

I am just in a good mood this fine morning and thought of those members.

Old Dood, I believe the word you were going for was gesture. Jester is the guy with the funny bell hat who makes the king and queen laugh.

I concur with your thoughts on giving previous transgressors a new chance at some point. No point in GMI being anything like TTAC.

Re: New Year...New Lease on Level 1 Members?

I totally forgot about Level 1. I think the issues that initiated such a member distinction have long since ended. Is it because of Level 1 or despite it? I don't think that can be answered.

Re: New Year...New Lease on Level 1 Members?

How many Level 1 guys are going to come back? My guess is that alot of them got their status because of all the issues they had with regular members here. I think if they come back, it'll be the same ole crap all over again. (Not that I minded, I love the drama!)

It seems like ages since I've heard any grumbles from Level I members.

And he deserved it too. He was almost as bad as Lazerwizard - man I'm showing how long I've been lurking around GMI with that reference. He used to write diatribes on how bad GM vehicles were with silly nicknames for the cars. Latosse was his favorite before he got the boot.

Ah, the memories....

But then again, all those cars have "fart burners" on them. That "fart burner" ads 5-10HP to your car ;some of those small Hondas can whip a Vett off the line. (from anti-rice.com)
So 115hp+10hp=430hp, at least in ricerland

I hate to say it but I sorta missed Laserwizard's posts on some strange level. Actually, I totally forgot about him until you mentioned that name.

Yup. I'm here.

Lazerwizard wasn't so bad, he just thought the General could do better than it was at that time, circa 2004.

He had a rather seething way of making his point, but he was entertaining to read, and far better to read than the legions of trolls that once inhabited this site.

The Mods here (and the posters) did a great job in dealing with the hordes of trolls that invaded; at one time, being a GM owner here was seen as being a very, very bad thing. I am serious, and I have PMs to prove it.

GMi has been turned around completely.
