My thread's gone?

Is it just me or is the most recent thread I made...missing?

Re: My thread's gone?

Sometimes, if you create a thread at the same time as someone else....the mods merge them into one, and delete one.

Re: My thread's gone?

For some reason reading that thread title in the new post listing reminded me of the Seinfeld episode where Jerry's dad goes to see the back doctor specialist. He went into another room with the nurse and came back to find his wallet missing from his pants and he stuck his head out the door and yelled, "my wallet's gone, my wallet's gone."

Re: My thread's gone?

I assume you are talking about the America thread you made. It was a political thread so it got closed and moved to a secret forum for threads breaking the rules( or just duplicate threads that have no discussion yet to be merged). I did leave it out in the public for an hour after closing it so you had the chance to see, but guess you didn't( and I saw you were online for that hour).

Oh, that thread. I saw that thread last night (or whatever) and thought it would be an interesting debate although I figured it would end up locked very quickly.

Re: My thread's gone?

Why not just leave them after they're closed? You guys know you'll delete any post that is deemed out of line anyways, so the 'purged' closed thread shouldn't hurt anyone.

Re: My thread's gone?

Can thread authors delete their own threads in this forum? I know in my other car discussion forums, they can.

Re: My thread's gone?

When we delete a post within a thread, does it disappear completely? Or does it simply disappear from view, still able to be seen by mods/admins?

They are soft-deleted. Mods/Admins can elect to see deleted stuff if we want.

My thread "Obama's call for ideas" has gone missing too. What happened?

Re: My thread's gone?

We don't allow political discussions unless they are directly related to the automotive industry.

If you don't want evil mod to read your deleted post, edit it first (ie delete text and insert "wonkety wonk", save changes, then delete the post.
