Google spellcheck wont work on GMI now...

Whats up with that?

The Google bar is the best addon to IE in....ever....and it worked here yesterday, now it doesn't. Every other tab, it lights up, but it's grey and unclickable on GMI now....

Explain....

How about using Firefox?

or Safari?

both have spell check, and Safari has grammar check too
Opera also has spellcheck but not by default, you need to intall GNU Aspell.

IE as far as browsers go is the least standard-compliant. Show your support to open web standards by using Firefox, Opera, Konqueror or Safari.

Perhaps, but I also have a PC and not a mac, and I drink coffee from Tim Horton's, not double-mocha-triple-cream-chocolaty-sprinkles-on-top-Lattes from Starbucks...so I guess I might as well just stick with IE...lol

Actually I use IE from most stuff because well....I always used IE. And when I downloaded IE7Pro it added a lot of cool features, like banner-ad, and flash ad blocking too.

I do however use FF for porn... I mean....yea, I can't lie...I use it for porn. lol I find it actually removes files when you tell it too, and they don't mysteriously appear again.

I tend to not want to DL a bunch of specialty programs, IE works fine, it crashes a lot for some reason, but it remembers what tabs I had, so I don't lose anything. I just don't feel like changing when what i have does what I want.

You can continue to use IE. I am running Google Toolbar 5 Beta, which has some cool new features, and spell check works fine on GMI. You can get it at http://toolbar.google.com/T5/intl/en/ You might also just have to reinstall 4, as it might be a problem just on your compter and not w/ 4 in general, but I would just upgrade to 5. I'm running 4 on Firefox because 5 is not yet available for Firefox.

I'm using IE6 and have no problems with the Google spell check. I'll check my laptop IE7 and let you know - if I get time, I'll check with IE8 as well.

I've got a great idea- why not take your time and proofread your post before you reply? I think it's a shame that we have to rely on a spellchecker every time we type anything. This generation is so determined to be quick as lightning that we hardly ever look after we type. It's really sad. Nothing burns me up more than having someone post here like they're just spilling words out without any sentence structure whatsoever.

Well, perhaps, but generally my spelling is fine anyway. I agree that people who spell evreythng rong should learn two spell things write, and learn the difference between then and than, or maybe just bi a dictionary.

However, to me, spellcheck is a tool, I didn't need an air nailer to lay the flooring down, a hammer would have been fine, hell, a nice rock could have done it as well, but it makes it easier to have the proper tools.

I fully agree however, that people who can't use commas, periods or apostrophes should learn rather than relying on such tools. At the same time however, I also know we aren't aiming for War and Peace here either, I choose to pick my battles.
