Exclamation GMI Help Files!

Because GMInsidenews is now using a new, more modern forum software, here are some step-by-step directions to activate some of the user options.

To activate better Editor
As some of you have noticed, the defult setting for your editor (place where you type your posts) does not have the smilies or HTML. If you activate this editor the smilies and HTML are right there, when you are posting want to use them. I highly reccomend this setting!

Step 1: Click on "User CP".

Step 2: To the left, under the "settings & Options" tab, click "Edit Options".

Step 3: Scroll down to the "Miscellaneous" box.

Step 4: Click on the first drop-down menu and activate "Enhanced Interface-Full WYSIWYG Editing".

Step 5: Then click "Save Changes".

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

To edit notification options
The new forum software allows you to choose which ways you want to be notified and contacted (either by E-Mail or Privite Messaging or both).

Step 1: Click on "User CP".

Step 2: To the left, under "Settings & Options" click "Edit Options".

Step 3: Scroll down to the "Messaging and Notification" box.

Step 4: Check-mark the boxes on the optinons in which you wish to activate.

Step 5: Click "Save Changes" on the bottom of the page.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

To add a member to your "Ignore" list
The software has an "Ignore" option where you can add members that you wish to ignore. When you add a member to the ignore list, you cannot view their posts on the forum.

Step 1: Click on "User CP".

Step 2: To the left, under the "Miscellaneous" tab, click "Buddy/Ignore Lists" link.

Step 3: In the "Ignore List" box type the username(s) of the member you wish to ignore.

Step 4: Then click the "Update Ignore List" button.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

To add a vehicle to the vBGarage
The forum has an optional "Garage" where members can add their vehicle(s). Please only add legit vehicles!

Step 1: Click on "User CP"

Step 2: To the left, under "Settings & Options", and click "Edit vBGarage".

Step 3: Then add you vehicle information in the approperiate information box.

Step 4: If you have pictures of your vehicle that you want to add to the carage, click "Browse", and select the picture you want to add to the garage.

Step 5: The click "Submit".

If there is an option that you do not know how to use, and I didn't cover it in the above, please feel free to request help, and I will post a directional guide for that option like the ones above.
