Disappearing Threads II

During the last few days, several threads have vanished. Is there a push from the new administration to censor everything that's anywhere close to starting to maybe cross the line???

Definitely seems like a new policy to me. Until now, threads were being closed (I'm fine with this) but I just hate it when whole discussions irretrievably disappear.

You post one morning, then on your next visit, you look for that discussion, and can't find it. You waste a couple minutes looking in places (thinking it might have been moved) and never find it.

I'm guessing I'm not the only one being pissed off by that new moderation policy. Keep exaggerating on the censorship and you'll see long-time members leave. I know you won't care much about it, but I hope I won't be the only one.

Re: Disappearing Threads II

If you're wondering about CobaltSS's thread, I think that was deleted by his request. Most threads that disappear like this seem to for that reason. If I make a thread, and then request it be deleted later on, I can, but the mods don't have to inform everyone that it was deleted, that would be impossible.

Re: Disappearing Threads II

I have noticed that there are a couple of posters, who shall remain nameless, that like to start threads so people can pat them on the back. When it backfires and people point out how ridiculous they sound the thread always disappears.

Re: Disappearing Threads II

There has not been a lot of threads removed recently. Actually, the number of deleted threads is on the decline...has been for several weeks. So I'm not sure what you're getting at...

Do remember that we try to keep things organized by moving threads to different forums or merging two similar threads into one thread. Both situations will cause confusion if you are looking for a specific thread.

If there is a specific thread you cannot find, shoot me a PM. I will gladly look into it's whereabouts for you.

That's just one of several in only a few days. It's pretty unlikely that several different posters would request thread deletions at the same time, so I'd be surprised if it were a simple coincidence (I'm not ruling it out, though).

Don't forget about merged threads - I just merged two threads on the same story this morning.

It was funny, but I can understand why he wanted it gone.
