Disappearing threads?

Hey guys- yesterday there was a thread started by a member. I tried looking for it this morning and it is gone. Not closed, but gone! Can anyone tell me what happened to it and why it was totally erased? I can PM you the name of the original poster if you don't know what I'm talking about.

Re: Disappearing threads?

Reasons that threads can and will be pulled from the boards:
- violation of GMI policies
- copyright/embargo issues
- thread starter request with valid reason
- spam

Staff are not always going to make some sort of announcement everytime a thread gets pulled so sometimes you'll have to use your intuition.

PM myself or another staff member if you still have questions or concerns, likearock.

Thanks!

Re: Disappearing threads?

Thanks Swahili. I didn't know who erased the thread so I didn't know who to PM. It makes it alot easier for us to understand when you close it and let us know why. That way we know what NOT to do!! When you erase, we just wonder.

Not sure how that fits in, so I put it at the bottom.

The thead you posted regarding the sale was removed because the site you linked tois blacklisted on GMI. Not bcause it was about the sale.

Can we get a listed of these blacklisted sites so we don't waste our time and energy posting articles from them, only to have them covertly deleted?

Re: Disappearing threads?

sometimes threads disappear too because it is merged with another thread.
i do that to reduce the duplication on the site.

Re: Disappearing threads?

Now that I know what thread Rocky was referring to I am surprised it was deleted.
I must have missed something.

I thought it was a grand noble gesture on the part of the instructor/counselor that was willing to chip in on his behalf.

I have no idea what went south in that thread.
It seemed like a harmless thread to me but, like I just said I must of missed someone's comment or two.

Re: Disappearing threads?

If a thread was deleted..and it means that much to you..PM NSAP or an admin. In many cases if you were not the OP of the thread..you won't be told the reason anyway..since that is a matter between the staff and whoever broke the rules. End of story.

As for blacklisting sites...NSAP and the staff reserve full editorial control of what sites we link to..and what sites we don't..and I don't think they are gonna make a public list anytime soon.
