Can I change my Username?

FordRules is a bit 1 sided and immature, and I made this account when I was 12, so I was wondering, wonderful mods of GMI Land, Can I get a new user name?

Re: Can I change my Username?

As a rule, the admins do not change usernames. Basically they don't want to open the floodgates to username change requests. If you really don't like your username, your best bet would be to create a new account.

Ya know, I've always wondered about this...was FordRules a joke or did you have a random change of heart?

Keep your name. Who is to say you will not change your mind about it sooner or later?

You 'COULD' have a One Week Amnesty Program where anyone that has mis-spelled their names or like Ford Rules wants to change it because he has aquired more maturity.
Or simply to 'tweak' their name to fit them better.

This could be done with a notification to ALL well in advanced.
For example this coming Labor Day could be a good week in order for the Adminds to do this.
Then AFTERWARD....no excuses for not asking to have it done.

I think it is a great idea and would only build a good relationship with the membership and the staff here.

I ask NSAP to consider this and sleep on this for a while before responding...

Re: Can I change my Username?

I think DaewooRules is still open...

But seriously, technically it appears to be do-able. Your user ID would remain the same, but the user name could be changed in the mode panel.

But as T-type said, everyone will want to change their user names as often as they change their avatars. Not good.

I think he matured and realized that the opposite of his screen name is the real truth and alwayshas been.

Re: Can I change my Username?

RCtennis changed his name. It's been done without all hades breaking loose. But I understand the concern. I think Old Dood's compromise is quite savvy.

Re: Can I change my Username?

I'll allow you to change only because I know you've change a lot since you first signed up. PM me with what you want it changed to and we will go from there.

Name changes will be done on a case-by-case basis and ultimately the staff decides which will be changed. We prefer to have a "legitimate" reason for the change (such as your real name is in it, its a copyright, etc.).
