What's up with the current/future 9-3?

I'm a relatively "new" GM fan, I'm having a hard timing keep their plans straight for current and future vehicles. I've always loved the current 9-3 for some reason since the current version came out.

I know it was just refreshed for '08, but how long will it continue to be produce in its present form? The net has conflicting reports, but some say it will stick around until the Ep. II replacement comes along in summer or fall of 2010. So that would mean the redesigned 9-3 would be a 2011 model year car? Is it possible it would be here sooner than that? Or maybe even later? (Edmunds said mid-2010 "at the earliest".)

Should we assume that the 9-3 will continue to be produced in its current form until spring of 2010?

And I read production of the 9-3 is shifting to Germany for '08? Is that true? What are they going to be doing with the Trollhatten (sp?) factory?

Re: What's up with the current/future 9-3?

I have a Nocturne Blue / Parchment 08 9-3 on order and I can not wait for it to come in. The car is a blast to drive and the face lift makes the car look a lot sportier especially when compared to the 07. The interior is finished really nice and I did not think the price was bad for a premium midsize. Now I need to find some patience for the 10 - 14 week delivery!
