Then how will they save the H2?

Quote:
Martin Walsh also mentioned that a hybrid HUMMER is not in the product pipeline, saying, "it does not allow the vehicle to demonstrate true off-road capability." Since off-roading usually occurs at speeds less than 35 mph, a true hybrid rock-crawler would likely need to run off of its batteries while bounding boulders.

What must they do?

They can't run off of H3 sales alone forever?
They have got to do something to help the H2 sales rise again.
What will that be?
Will a good turbodiesel be enough?

Re: Then how will they save the H2?

I dunno...what must they do? I dont see Land Rover rushing out a hyrbid. I dont see a Hybrid FJ Cruser coming, surprisingly.
I am saddend that its going to be 2 years before the H2 gets put on GMT900. It probably will be more, we still have yet to see any camo'd H2's crawling around Rubicon.
I belive that an optional hyrbid H2 should be available. Not everyone off-roads the H2, especialy not my 52 year old neighbor. I look foward to a 900 H2, 6.0 and 6.2 optional, both 6spd autos, advanced 4wd systems, adjustable shocks for ride hight, high-grade interior that is half luxury, half off-road.

A number of thigns can be done.
THey can add an engine with DOD. When off-roading, push a button that activates all cylinders permanently and disables DOD. Or do the same with a hybrid design, where the hybrid system is turned off when offroading.
THey can add DI or a Turbo.
ARen't the TUrbodiesels in the Alphas only??

Then they can improve the interior. Use H3 styled seating.

THen they can add an H4.

Re: Then how will they save the H2?

The only thing "wrong" with the H2 is it not being on GMT-900 now.

I noticed that the photo in the linked article is credited to FR Design. Is that our own FordRules? Looks like a chop of the H3 and Colorado back end like the spy shots we saw a few weeks ago.

Sales are slipping.
All I care about it sales rising.
Surely it has nothing to do with the platform, although that won't hurt.
They need to do whatever it takes to win back customers.

It's a Niche vehicle that exceeded sales numbers. How is a sales slip of any relevance? The market is just falling back to the natural place where it should be. Some of you people assume that down = bad and up = good, and that is not always the case. You should know the market size and manufacture accordingly

Re: Then how will they save the H2?

My dealer says they can hardly sell H2's anymore. H3's are selling great, but the fellow I talked to said the H2's have a very limited market and he thinks they've already sold to everyone who wanted one.

Re: Then how will they save the H2?

It's all about the H3, H3 Truck, H4 now!

H2 is relegated to a high $ supporting role. (along with Armada, Sequoia, Land Cruiser, etc...) Big Utes just aren't selling right now unless they are fresh!
