Saab: Front & Center at the Tony Awards

Just watching the TOny Awards this evening, and it looks liek Saab is a major sponsor of the Awards show. They are getting a lot of promotion, right before the commercial break, and their commercials are airing quite a bit.

Nice to see the 9-7Xs being promoted heavily. The people who watch (or even care) about the Tony Awards are exactly the demographic Saab needs to hit squarely on the head.

Good move GM!

Oh yeah.. for every winner... before the commercial break... there's a...

"Saab would like to congratulate <so and so play/musical/actor/actress> for his/her accomplishments."

Then there would be the Saab logo and the tagline "The State of Independence."

Seriously.

It's still a high profile awards show, and for Saab to be there front and center promoting the 9-3 Conv and 9-7X... it's a good thing.

Not sure about building company image with 9-7X.
It should be under the desk product.

Perhaps... but the 9-7X still got the bulk of the promotion.
And seeing as pre-orders top 5,000... that's not bad at all.

I agree with you 100%. I loved both the convertible and 9-7X commercials! I got tired very fast of the Cadillac spot - They must have shown it four or five times. Makes no sense to push how wonderful Caddy is, and then end each spot with a fire-sale pricing push!

And by the way, CBS did a great job on the Tony awards telecast.

The ratings for the TOny's were lower this year than last. But it still did better overall for the nite against the other networks.

The TOny's should pick up next year with the appearance of some very high profile musicals like Elton John's "Lestat," based on the Anne Rice novels. Lucky for me... it's having its World premiere in San Francisco!!!

I watch the Tonys on TV.

I mean that there are some high profile muscials en route to Broadway next season. ANd a few of them happen to be opening in San Francisco for its World Premiere before heading to NEw York. THe big one is Elton JOhn's "Lestat."

Last year, we had "Wicked" open in SF for its World Premiere.
