Re: Saab 9-7X review

I skimmed through the review but I agree that it is too much GM, but the 9-7x will be good for saab since it looks so much better than its sisters

Yeah, how many sisters are there, 6?
9-7x, Envoy, Trailblazer, Rainier, Ascender, and the used to be Bravada, is that all of them?

Thats just way to many, GM should cut down on all of those suvs that are the same thing.

other than SSR, i think your list is right. SSR is different enough that it is on the platform, but isn't a sister... i'd bet alot of people don't know its related to the GMT-360's. there are 5 main sisters now (Bravada is dead, so can't really count), and the Chevy and GMC each have 3 variants, the Izuzu 2... that makes 10 vehicles, all of which are blatant rebadges obvious to even casual observers. i'd trim it down to Trailblazer/SS, Envoy Denali (all GMC's should be Denalis IMO), and Ascender (this one can be kept as longer version) if they wanna keep Izuzu alive at all. Rainier isn't needed, nor 9-7X, both should be replaced with Lambda crossovers... and the EXT or XL versions are the same size as the Tahoe/Yukon, why have 2 vehicles on different chassis the same size, similar prices, and soon likely the same engines???

OK.. SSR is a brother then. In either case, it's still int eh same family.

I think the idea of 9-7X is OK. it just needs to be done better.
Ranier isn't needed if GMC is going to have the Denali.

I think Ranier's time is near an end anyways. 9-7X is also limited too. Probably another year or two.

Re: Saab 9-7X review

I couldn't agree with you more mgescuro. The Rainier seems kind of pointless now.

Re: Saab 9-7X review

I think that the 9-7x is a lot better looking than an Envoy or TB. Besides, most people wouldn't even know they were the same vehicle.

Yeah the 9-7x is a really nice car and definitely worth keeping on the lots but the Rainier is too much like the TB and Envoy. Its like stuck in the middle between the two and the TB and Envoy are already very very similar.

Thumbs down Re: Saab 9-7X review

I understand why GM did the 9-7, as a stopgap measure for Saab but it's another example of market overkill. These midsize SUV's are all the same. A little fluff here a bigger tire there a little chrome here, so what. GM has finally got to get this re-badge mentality out of it's system once and for all.

Re: Saab 9-7X review

The commercial says it doesn’t blend in but how are you suppose to know if it only gets a front profile for 4 seconds during the entire commercial? Sometimes GM advertising misses the product completely and the recent commercial for this one missed it by a mile. The only exposure its going to get is from reviews and people who happen to cross the lot because GM's marketing department is afraid to show this vehicle. Why waste money on the add in the first place? Just so they can say they tried? Good luck Saab.
