HERZLIA, Israel, February 8, 2005 - Tecnomatix Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ:TCNO), the driving force in manufacturing process management (MPM), today announced that German-based Opel will standardize on eMPower™ solutions to manage Body-In-White processes at its Rüsselsheim International Technical Development Center (ITDC).

As part of a move to streamline its planning methodologies, Opel, a wholly owned subsidiary of General Motors, is adopting GM’s North American planning methodologies across its European operations. Opel selected Tecnomatix because of its work in support of GM’s process planning and operational needs.

Opel will use the eMPower Body-In-White solution Tecnomatix developed for GM, which includes the powerful eM-Planner product. The total value of the initial contract, including services and software, exceeds US$765,000.

The move will bring GM closer to being able to deploy a common BIW process globally, and will enable the ITDC to process any GM vehicle program currently supported by the eMPower BIW solution.

“Tecnomatix has proven its ability to work within the framework of GM’s demanding planning and operational needs, and that was a major factor in our decision to adopt the eMPower solution here in Germany,” said Dr. Jörg Uthoff, Manager Virtual Factory at Opel. “The increased flexibility will allow us to respond more quickly to the changing marketplace, while the standardization lets us utilize the resources of a truly global company much more efficiently and effectively. The resulting reduction in complexity and paperwork should also decrease training and maintenance costs. GM will be able to better leverage Opel’s engineering and planning expertise across its other operations, and we will have more access to GM’s global network of Body-In-White processes. The result will be a better product for our customers.”

“Opel has a long tradition of engineering excellence, and their decision to adopt eMPower reflects a continuing commitment to innovative technology that has been core to their company for more than 100 years,” said Jaron Lotan, president and chief executive officer, Tecnomatix Technologies. “To remain competitive in today’s global manufacturing environment, you must take full advantage of the resources available to you. In Opel’s case, this means ensuring that they can share Body-In-White knowledge with the rest of GM’s global network. Tecnomatix is committed to helping Opel achieve this goal with our industry-leading eMPower solutions for MPM.”
