Import it -- even if it's built here. That as a German import would sell cars to people who don't want a "GM", which they look at as "domestic". It's why I'd use the Opel badge, hype up its Germaness, and with those looks it'll move iron.

Personally, and I obviously know nothing about what's happening, I can see GM figuring turning Saturn directly into Opel would be a simple, inexpensive, and logical thing to do. Maybe they "halted" production to simply order enough Opel badging .

I would love to bring Opel back into the US; however, the necessary marketing to reintroduce the brand to the US isn't possible. Nor would GM do a good job at it because GM would stress it's "GM-ness" as an advantage or something stupid.

GM just needs to know how to treat Saturn and to tout that it is the "anti-GM" car. Saturn still has a lot of goodwill. Make it the import fighter it was once tasked to do. And they can do it by bringing in all the Opels to the US.

Hopefully with this delay it will give enough time for marketing to come up with a way to get this car to be a hit in the US.

Re: Opel Insignia in red

I've actually been wondering what it would look like in a nice red metallic. Too bad on the base head-lamps though.
Are the tail-lamps 'base' as well? Or are those the same one's we've always saw?

Re: Opel Insignia in red

This is a stunning car, if they can import it, and manage to sell it for a competitive price then the competition will have their work cut out for them.

Re: Opel Insignia in red

Still no rear headroom, not sold on the buttonitis, steering wheel is awful and the Buick is far too close for comfort.

I love its ancestors, but I believe Opel could've done better with their second-most-important car.

Just replace the badge yourself. Saturn is here to stay.

Re: Opel Insignia in red

I think that someone had originally posted that the Aura was to get the 2.4, 3.0DI, and the 3.6DI. I hope it is on hold to get more of the European engine choices the such as the 1.6 turbo and the 2.0 turbo and if the 2.8 turbo V6 gets better mileage than the 3.6 then that should be here instead. It may have something to do with getting HCCI certified by the gubment. Hopefully it is out by the end of next year.

Yes, they are too close. That said, I'd take a shared nice interior over two distinct but bad ones.

That thing is HUGE, and looks like the Alien's head. Having the rear center headrest be tall and the side ones recessed seems the opposite of what you really want for visibility...

"Buttonitis" on the dash seems no worse than a Mercedes, Acura etc. -- unless you are suggesting the masses can't deal with buttons as well as the MB-driving elite can

The centralized controller does seem more complex than iDrive and COMMAND with the extra buttons around it. That could be problematic given how many people seem troubled by iDrive.

Re: Opel Insignia in red

In the one picture it appears that one could unbuckle the bottom of the seat belt. Could someone please explain this feature. thanks
