New Astra TwinTop (CoupeCabrio)

The new Astra TwinTop will be shown at the IAA in Frankfurt in September, on sale in Spring 2006. Maybe as a Saturn in 2007?

Very nice. I like it. And its a hard-top too! Even better. Beats canvas anyday.

I've been waiting for some pics of the next Astra convertable.

It's been the highest selling convertable on the Australian market for the last few years.

Re: New Astra TwinTop (CoupeCabrio)

The same problem as with most compact cabriocoupes - the rear is too long and heavy compared with the front. Aside from that, a very nice looking car (much nicer than the Megane, on par with 307 I think).

Yeah, but anyone who rides in the backseat of a 4-Seater Convertible, looks like Hitler. :p

And People said GM as wasting time with the SSR! It seems to have used the SSR to develop cheaper ardtops than those of the exotics like MB, Lexus and the likes...
Now, commoners can have hardtops too

Re: New Astra TwinTop (CoupeCabrio)

If you are trying to imply that the technology from the SSR was used here, you're wrong, unfortunately. The folding tops for Tigra and Astra TwinTop are made by the French company Heuliez, which specializes in those (they do 206 too). Opel just sourced the complete thing.

Wow! That looks great! I really like the rear slope of the roof, and the trunk and rear bumper flow very nicely! Great job Opel!

I got this feeling when I saw a 206cc on the street the other day, but I think this car looks somewhat better in hardtop form. Except for all the lines the folding mechanism leaves on the roof and stuff.

Wow, that interior looks great. I wish Chevy put that kind of effort into interiors.

This should be a Saturn. That interior is on par with the best in its class, the Mazda 3 and Volvo S40. Good job GM. Sell it here.
