Just an idea I have..

Maybe Im crazy or I dont know what the whole car industry is like, but I keep having this nagging idea. What if GM completely wiped out their entire lineup in each brand and came out with all new redesigns of really popular models (cars, trucks, suvs) as well as bring out some new models under new names. It would be like a whole new car company and have some sick lookin cars, trucks, etc. Like people say "Oh that pontiac has the same ole, same ole." but if they redesign every single car and people will be like "hey that new pontiac G8 looks really nice, and that new redesigned GTO with 500hp looks sweet" or "Hey that Vette C7 with 550HP is a dream come true, and that new *unnamed car* with the 3900 for 22K is going to be my next car" So how about some all new '07 models?

any comments?

Re: Just an idea I have..

Welll... technically, GM is doing exactly that right now.
Cadillac's slate has been totally wiped clean.
Saturn's is in teh process of being wiped clean.
Pontiac, Buick, and chevy are part of the way there.

You're going to see old models die off and new models come to take the place of 2 or more models (like Century/Regal = Lacrosse). A 1-to-1 change over (Catera = CTS). And All new models (Solstice).

You can't wipe out ever brands cars over night and then have new ones the following day. It takes time. Rome wasn't built in a day.

I say by 2015 GM will have finally wiped the entire slate clean worldwide.
