The Hummer Tribute

Hummers seem to be getting an undeserved bad rap. Not just here, but everywhere. I realize part of it is the simple fact it's an SUV, part of it is due to it's origans (the H1), and part of it is because of the "image" its drivers have. What I find most curious though is how when an H2 is driven on the street, it's called useless yet when a CJ or Land Rover is driven on the street they're OK. Jeeps are one of the most capable off road machines made today, however as a former owner of one I can attest that the vast majority never see anything close to a hard core trail (or even a soft core one), same thing with the Land Rovers. Being a fan of Hummers in general I thought I'd start a tribute to them here. If you have any pictures or videos of Hummers kicking ass then feel free to add to.

Re: The Hummer Tribute

Those are pretty impressive photos from an impressive truck. It's odd seeing the H2 from some of these angles because I'm only now starting to see the uncanny resemblance to the H1, which I'm crazy about. I just wish they weren't chromed out and all that so often. They look tough and mean and how they're supposed to look when they're out on the trails.

Sweet pics man. Glad to see those H2's being used off-road. The 3rd and 5th pics are my favorite.

I totally agree. I don't like chrome on Hummers. It ruins their tough image. I'm glad GM started to offer body colored grilles for the H2. Next the H3.

Hummers are vehicles for those who love off-roading, not those who like to chrome it out and slap on those rediculous DUBs and limit it to the streets. Do that to Escalades.

I just wish GM had made the H2 more like the concept they had showed. That concept was awesome. It had a more H1 resemblance.

One more thing. Want to be tough and manly? Get a Hummer. They don't focues so much on useless luxury. :p

Re: The Hummer Tribute

You can see the independant front suspension really hurts some of the approaches in those pics.

Not bad for a Tahoe underneath, though. ;]

Re: The Hummer Tribute

They should make an H2 or H3 truck. Not an SUT, but a truck. GM's got nothing on the power wagon sorry to say.

Re: The Hummer Tribute

It's nice to see that some people actually use the vehicle for more than showing off at the local mall.
