GeigerCars Insane Hummer H2

GeigerCars Insane Hummer H2

04/08/05

The car tuning scene is home to some of the worlds quickest and quirkiest cars, and if you thought the big 4x4s were immune to the tuning community, think again.

This audacious vehicle is the world's fastest Hummer, and comes from German tuning house GeigerCars.

Weighing 3.1 metric tons, and capable of 250km/h, the chances of surviving an impact with this large vehicle at such speeds would be highly unlikely

GeigerCars is one of the leading European tuners of American automobiles equips the SUV with a 7.0-litre V8 supercharged engine delivering a maximum power output of 515kW or 700hp. Peak torque is 904Nm.

Added to that is an exclusive GeigerCars luxury equipment package with 28-inch chrome wheels, sport suspension, high-performance brake system, pearl-effect special paint and an exclusive interior complete with multimedia system.

To make the Hummer H2 the fastest of its kind the specialists at GeigerCars replace the standard 6.0-litre engine with a V8 from the current Corvette C6, albeit with a bored-out displacement of 7,011cc. Numerous additional modifications such as precision-machining the two cylinder heads, the installation of a sport camshaft and a reinforced valvetrain are also part of the GeigerCars power treatment as is a cogged-belt driven supercharger with high-capacity intercooler. A fully stainless-steel high-performance exhaust system with high-performance manifold and metal catalysts completes the engine conversion.

With these modifications the supercharged 8-cylinder engine produces a maximum power output of 515kW @ 5500rpm and a peak torque of 904Nm @ 4260rpm. Power is transferred to all four wheels via a modified 4-speed automatic transmission.

Despite a curb weight of 3.1 metric tons the Hummer H2 7.0 Kompressor from GeigerCars achieves performance on the level of a purebred sports car: The sprint from 0 – 100km/h takes just 6.5 seconds, and top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h. Performance such as this necessitates numerous modifications to the suspension, and the immediately eye-catching king-sized 10Jx28 forged one-piece chrome wheels (with 325/35 R28 tyres) ensure that this SUV won't go unnoticed.
