any '06 H3 owners out there?

or for that matter, anyone with the 3.5 I5 engine?

how smooth does your engine idle?
how does it cruise on the highway?

Re: any '06 H3 owners out there?

I can't say that I am, but as I posted in another thread, I've already seen alot in the used lots. I dont know why, I mean, they have a few rough spots but over all are considered to be plenty adiquate and capable of a vehicle. A used dealership not to far from my house, a respectible dealer, has like 6 as of today when I drove by..5 of them are 06's...they have more H3s then they do any other single make/model. And then the Chevy/Cadillac/Hummer dealership a town away has more used 06' H3s then they do new!..what is the deal with trading these suckers in after a few months?..hell, they give me a good deal on one used and I'll take it

wow, hoey!
sounds like you are near the dealer that delivered my '06 STS.
anyway, its a great vehicle, despite the fact that the color i picked is hard to see and i have been hit twice. it just idles rough and seems to buck when cruising on the freeway.

What dealership? Was it in or around Ann Arbor?

Re: any '06 H3 owners out there?

when my cts went in for a problem, my dealership gave me an h3 which was weird cause im only 17. well anyway i got a fully loaded one and it was capable of accelerating well. it wasnt fast but it wasnt like extremely slow. when on cruise i believe the car goes somewhat smoothly.

Re: any '06 H3 owners out there?

the odd thing is that it's like two trucks.
sometimes i hit the key and its smooth and has a decent amount of pep and has no problems at 75 MPH. other times the idle is rough, it'll accelerate slow and sputter on the freeway. no check engine light and the dealer cannot figure it out. its like there is a loose spark plug wire or something.

Not mine but friends H3, has had no issues since he bought it. He has approx. 18,000 mi on it now and no problems. I drove with him from Ontario Canada all the way to Florida and the ride was very smooth. Never noticed any vibrations.

Re: any '06 H3 owners out there?

its getting better with the more miles i put on it. i am starting to think that maybe it sat in the lot too long and the gasoline got funky. for grins, i am going to have the dealer install the performance exhaust. supposed to increase torque and mileage.

Re: any '06 H3 owners out there?

I have an 06' that we bought last May. It has about 9300 miles and no problems. Around town it is fine. But when you push the gas to the floor on the highway at 70 you feel absolutely nothing. It does start to go faster but it just does not feel like it has any power. I can get to 70 by the end of the on ramp with no power but it is nothing like the GTO or our Silverado. We went on 1000 mile round trip in August and I set the cruise at 80 most of the trip and still got about 17 or 18 mpg. Even while going up hills it had no problem maintaining speed. Off road it is awsome! Rides great and has plenty of power whether in 4 hi or 4 low. It will climb any hill at Silver Lake Sand Dunes without breaking a sweat.

i really like going to the silver lake dunes. i rent their buggy, though.
i talked with one of the guys at corsa and they designed an exhaust system for the H3 and used his as the guinnea pig. he said it added much needed acceleration and the bonus was a little bump in the gas mileage.

Re: any '06 H3 owners out there?

here is an update.........what an incredible difference a dual exhaust makes on this vehicle. it still idles a little rough but, boy! the acceleration is MUCH improved.
