    Question Suburban 6-speed

    Ok here is the deal.

The wife and I are in the market for an 07 Burb.... I'd LOVE to wait for the 6-speed, but we both REALLY want/need to get a new truck. Our Grand Cherokee is NOT CUTTING IT ANY MORE LOL.

I'm looking to see if any one knows "when" it's (the 6-speed) gonna hit the Chevys and not just the "up scale" Denali and slade!!! You'd think they'd put them into the LTZ also. I can't see them not being able to get trannies for some of the suburbans and Tahoes.
I've heard 08 (as in Jan 08), but I can't believe it's gonna take that long to get them into the trucks.

Yeah- I wouldn't get a new truck nowadays without at least a five speed auto- especially considering what you would be paying for a suburban.

Try to keep that Jeep glued together until January 2007- if they are not out by then, I suggest you get a six speed Expedition.

Shouldn't dynasties win more than one?

So Jan 07 they "may" be getting the 6-speeds? If so I think I can get the wife to wait. The is NO way we will go ferd!!!

Unfortunatly there is so much junk in the air,on when stuff is gonna hit the dealer floors, it's hard to decide. LOL
Anyone else want to chime in on when the 6 speeds are actualy comming?

    Re: Suburban 6-speed

I suppose $50,690 for a GMC Yukon XL Denali is a bit too expensive. Well that is a bit more than the Suburban LTZ's base price at $45,655, since you were talking about the LTZ.
I'll make a new sig. Later.

This is the same thing that is holding me back from considering a new Tahoe. Since the 2007 Tahoe/Suburban is basically going to have a year and a half run, would they make a change to the transmission before '08 even if they could build enough? What would be the ramifications of a running change like that and would they even do it? I guess they could make a 6 speed optional at some point during the '07 model run.

It's just too logical of a thing to do.

I think I need to re phrase "my" reasoning.
I hate the GMC's nose. I honestly think it's the most nasty thing on the road. Sorry to the GMC owners

Hahaha...ok. We'll, I've heard, if you are lucky that you COULD get it this fall, or beginning of 2007.

There's no guarantee that the Suburban will get a 6 speed to my knowledge. It'd be bad if you were waiting for something that never came.

No no no...what the Suburban needs before a 6.2 is a Duramax/Allison combo.

It will get it, same as all the GMT 900's. It's just a question of when. (cross fingers 07)

I did see in truck trend last night, that the Cadi is getting a hybrid in 07 BUT as an 08 model. Just to confuse us even more LOL

I have no clue as to when the info will start to flow again but I hope soon.
