My/Your Ideal GMC Lineup

Here is my ideal GMC lineup! Please note, all these are based on My Ideal Chevy Lineup vehicles!

Feel free to post your ideal lineup as well!

Canyon $16,000-$30,000
Offer standard DI 2.8L V-6 good for 260 HP, optional V-8 (DI 5.3L good for 375 HP). Completely new interior that is far nicer, slightly more aggressive truck like exterior, but classier to differentiate from it's Chevy brother, with a GMC-styled nose. Version offered with V-8 power, lowered ride. Offered in regular, extended, and crew cab. Short, regular, extended bed. RWD, optional 4x4.

Sierra $25,000-$51,000
GMT-900 exactly as-is with the following changes. Standard DI 2.8L V6 good for 260 HP, optional 375 HP DI 5.3L and DI LS3 good for 450 HP as well as the Vortec 8200 V10 and Duramax 8100 diesel.

Acadia $35,000-$50,000
Mostly as-is. Engine is the 320 HP DI 3.6L V6. Some basic upgrades in features and material.

Envoy $25,000-$36,000
Based on the Theta, this is GMC's stylish version of the VUE and Equinox. Engines are the 200 HP DI 2.4L standard with an optional 260 HP DI 2.8L V6. High quality interior. GMC bold but clean styling. AWD standard.

Typhoon $46,000
Based off the Envoy. 450 HP DI LS3. This is a two-door sport version of the compact Envoy crossover with a lowered and taunt suspension, 20" extremely grippy tires/chrome rims. Heavily revised interior that is extremely sporty. RWD with optional AWD. Fastest crossover on the market.

Yukon $34,000-$57,000
As-is for the most part. Upgraded interior. Two engines are available, the DI 5.3L good for 375 HP and optional DI 5.7L good for 415 HP. Third row optional, standard on XL version. Four doors only. Denali adds 24" chrome rims on low-pro tires, a modified front and rear, and tons of luxury appointments not offered in the other Yukons.

Savana $27,000-$40,000
GM's lone van. A complete de-design of the interior, and upgraded exterior that is somewhat aggressive and muscular, yet still very clean. All the models and setups are the same as current models. Engines are the DI 3.6L good for 320 HP and a supercharged DI 3.6L good for 380 HP. RWD is standard, optional 4x4.

So, you're then proposing an all-new Envoy, then? It'd be smaller than the current Envoy by just a tad, and you'd lose the XL variants, that seem to sell rather well.

I like your other suggestions, especially the Typhoon. I'll have to sketch that one out.

Hmm... I might rethink the Envoy... and glad you like the Typhoon.

The pricetags on the Yukon and Yukon XL are way too high.

Re: My/Your Ideal GMC Lineup

The Safari's front end should slightly resemble the Sierra. It seems that one of the things people like about the Astro/Safari is that they can have a "mini-van" that looks like a truck (and is essentially a truck). So I'm not sure that "sleeker" would work for the Safari, but it was in Desperate need of a redesign. Keep RWD please, with AWD as an option. Most of the U.S. doesn't need AWD.

Other than that I like the list. It wouldn't make much sense to bring back, but I always liked the 2-door Tahoe/Yukon

Re: My/Your Ideal GMC Lineup

I think that since Pontiac, Buick, and GMC are all under one roof, the lineup between them needs to be simplified.

I'd ditch the Acadia in favor of a two door off road capable SUV based off of the Envoy chassis. They can call it the Jimmy....it would sell like hotcakes.

I think the Buick Enclave is doing quite well, so we don't need to Jeep-iffiy the GMC brand with more crossovers.

GMC NEEDS to suplement their BOF trucks/SUVs to fight off profit loss with slowing traditional SUV/truck sales. Thats why I changed the smaller Envoy to a crossover as well as have the Typhoon be a crossover, not an SUV, as well as the reason I kept the Acadia. Also, unless I'm wrong, the Acadia seems to be selling quite well - half the new crossovers around here seem to be Acadias.

But Buick already has the Acadia (Enclave), so that should free up GMC do go with a more creative truck.

It's your lineup...

No 4-door ute based off a toned down Denali XT?
