GMC truck wiper blades

I recently complained about how much wipers cost to replace on new-style GMCs, compared to previous generic style wipers accepted on pre-new-style. I like to usually stock routine maintence items like wipers but I haven't bought them yet for my truck. Mind you I haven't even seen the need to yet at 69000kms I live in weather heavy BC by the way, does anyone know anything about these wipers? Seems like they never break-down and streak from weathering. I like this.

Re: GMC truck wiper blades

The new beam style pinch mount blades on the gmt-900 and other GM vehicles SUCK! They freeze up and are like giant ice pops during the winter in the great frozen north!!!!!!!!!!!!
There are several posts on the snowplowing forums about them scratching up the windsheild. GM replaced my windsheild and wiper blades after they scratched up my windsheild. The flimsy clips that hold the blade layers together bend when loaded up with ice and snow and scratch up the windsheild.

For quite a while there were NO rubber covered "winter" blades available only the factory GM pieces ar $23 bucks each!
Luckily my local NAPA store started stocking both summer and winter pinch mount blades. I got a set of the rubber covered ones and they are wonderful!

Just in case anybody else is wondering you can get them at NAPA online or your local NAPA store.
For the gmt-900 and you want the rubber covered winter blades
napa pn#60-2257-13 are the ones you want.

Yes but would any blade other than a rubber covered one (which they sell generic style as well) survive in true north winter?? Ive bought winter blades in the lower mainland, they go rust and crap faster than the cheapest blades I've bought. The "pinch blades" that come with my GMC have for out lasted even generic "blade" style that ive bought for previous vehicles. I've learned to expect that most equipment offered from vehicle dealers don't survive extreme weather!

PS I agree I used my wipers without clearing snow and my passenger wiper doesn't land perfect like it used too. But maybe I shouldn't have over loaded it in the first place.

AND YES NAPA IS THE CHEAPEST FOR THIS TRUCK

Re: GMC truck wiper blades

Tanked.................When I am out doing snowplowduty during one of our frequent "lake effect" snow events for HOURS at a time the NAPA rubber covered replacements work fine and do not load up like the stock "summer" blades. No more having to stop and get out frequently and beat the ice load off the blades.

It sure sucked using the stock GM ones untill I was able to find these rubber covered "pinch mount" replacements!

GMC.........The price must of went down or the parts guy was trying to give me "the dance"!
