GM Truck Interior could look better...

The New GM Truck interior looks a bit 'iffy' in grey with all the light silver (top).

But with some of the main silver sections in satin black or gloss piano black it could improve the look of the interiors, especially if color coded interiors was offered as an option as below...

No offense, my friend, but I think I prefer the originals to your version this time around.

So the reason why car makers offer so much endless expanses of grey is because that's what people like?

People once liked color; back in the happy days...

I don't like to comment on interiors based on pictures alone. I believe to actually get a good feeling for an interior and what it actually is like, one needs to actually sit inside it, touch the materials, get a feeling for comfort etc. If I were judging on pictures alone, I wouldn't be all that smitten with the Ram interior, but I have sat in one many times, and I really like it.

I'll wait for judgements until I actually sit in one and get a feeling on fit, finish and material quality.

I love the seat color in the middle, the yellow classic truck.

I had it more yellow, then I added more brown. There are so many saddle shades...

Re: GM Truck Interior could look better...

I think the reason why such rich colors like red or yellow or even shades of green are not offered today is because of the way interiors are designed today, compared to the past. In the past, the interiors spoke a language similar to the exterior of the vehicle. Today, cars and trucks seem to take on a totally different theme inside compared to their exterior, and also, the interior designs these days are rather blocky, or angular, or very "plastic-y". And, when you color such a plasticy interior red or green, there's a cheapness about it, at least, for me it gives me a very cheap, hard plastic feel.

I've seen some of the new Cadillacs and Mercedes-Benz's use shades of red in their interior, but they seem to dilute the richness of those colors and darken it up so that it's not so bright, and it complements the black areas of the interior very well. GM did put up an image of a dark brown interior for the Silverado on their site: http://www.chevrolet.com/2014-silver...up-trucks.html (scroll down a little). And, you'll notice that the brown is not so rich, making for a very calm feel, and easy on the eyes.

The seats look promising... nice side bolsters, and the headrests are not annoyingly slanted forward. More and more vehicles are doing this to comply with head restraint standards, and it can become tiresome ... you feel like you can't stretch your neck properly.

Wow the chocolate, and the red interior just took the interior from questionable in my eyes to class leading.
I want a car so violent that the mere thought of full throttle would cause a heart attack. That actually going wide open throttle in would result in nothing less than instant death!

Great idea. It would be great to see options like these offered.

Could you create some two tone interiors?

The red interior looks nice. Can you chop that one with a larger screen and delete the top glovebox?

I don't think the colors are what bothers me.

I don't like the way the center stack is mounted within the dash. It's almost like it is recessed in there just like in a mid 1990s Cavalier or Camaro.

It would drive me crazy owning it, especially since my 2007 model has much tighter lines.

That's my favorite! I hope the High Country has this color! I was iffy on this interior before. After I saw those two pictures with the center console with that particular color, I fell in love with it.

I love the red one MonaroSS... Reminds me of my old 91. Red inside and out. What a classic.
