97 tahoe 5.7L vortec crate motor part #

was thinking of replacing the engine in my 97 tahoe with 220,000 miles. it doesnt smoke or anything yet but i think i'de still like to do it. i was looking on the gmpp website and couldn't seem to fine a direct replacement. anyone know which crate motor would fit the bill? anyone know if my vortec heads will fit on any of those small block motors? i would like to reuse my intake and my vortec heads if possible.

Re: 97 tahoe 5.7L vortec crate motor part #

I am sure someone will respond with the part #. If you can't wait though, just give your nearest chevy dealership a call and ask them. Our dealership has the direct replacement motors 71-86, 87-95, 96-99.

The heads will bolt to any small block but the manifold has to go with the heads. It will not fit non-vortec heads.
