    2014 Sierra vs. Silverado difference

What are the differences you've seen between the new Sierra compared to the Silverado. So far, they look very similar except the grills and headlights.

Sierra uses real aluminum in the interior.

You buy them at different dealerships with different names....but I like the look of the GMC better.

The wheel well liners in GMC that frame the perimiter of the wheel arch.

There are subtle differences but some of the obvious ones would be...

chrome trim under the windows present in the Gmc but not the Silverado

horizontal crease through the wheel archs in the Sierra while the Chevy keeps its rounded look

tail lights are also different too

They better have those in the Chevrolet as well. We spend the same money on our trucks and I'd spend more.. Dodge has them. Ford will have them standard soon, My Chevrolet better too. They can't expect us Chevrolet Motor Co. guys to be part of the GM enterprise and be happy if they give us the middle finger on our trucks. I can't stand unfinished bed wheelwells... Particularly with the shapes and heights of the cut outs GM uses these days. It just looks horribly cheap and tacky to not put a standard liner in there. Raise the price of the trucks a whopping 20 bucks to offset the costs of a quality finished product.

As a Chevy guy, I'm beyond thrilled the trucks are roughly the same again like they were for decades. We got shafted the last 10 years. Now everybody is happy. Your GM looks great and so does my Chevrolet.

They have them, but not what I was talking about. Look at the Sierra picture and the plastic that traces out the wheel arches; Chevy does not have those.

The Sierra has red interior accent lighting, while the Silverado has blue accent lighting.

Maybe because they're not standard on the Silverado? I'm not a big fan of the wheel well lining on the exterior of the fender, though it serves a good purpose for those who offroad frequently.

Another thing that is typically diff between the twins is the door handles. Sierra normally comes with body color handles, with chrome on the top trim. While Chevy normally starts with black plastic, and then allows upgrading to body color or chrome on higher trims. Same with mirror trims. I saw that Sierra had body color mirror instead of generic black plastic.

Re: 2014 Sierra vs. Silverado difference

Back in the late 80's a Chevy dealership told me that GM was going to try to position the GMC a tad higher in features over the Chevy. They still do that today. The 2014 GMC will have many mostly visual features over the Chevy, but nothing big. Stitched leather, Alum/Wood inlays, More plastic guards along the outside trim. But functionally, they'll be 100% identical. You'll pay a tad more for the GMC like always, and look a tad better in some aspects. But the truck won't perform or roll down the road any different. GM together with the Silverado/Sierra combined will continue to outsell Ford, and make Ram and Toyota look like the nothings they are.

Re: 2014 Sierra vs. Silverado difference

Short answer: The cab and doors are the same. The interior is mostly the same except for ambient lighting.
    Everything else is different.

When these debuted two weeks ago the whole chorus of "MCE!!!!" and "GMC = Silvy" reminded me very much of CNN and FOX when the Supreme Court decision on 'Obamacare' came out.

People were in such a rush they glanced at the two and said some really stupid and demonstrably false things that don't bear scrutiny if you just sit down and examine the pics carefully.

The Silverado's rear wheel flares are longer as well.
