Re: 2009 GMC Official Changes

Oh no! The Sierra Denali is being restyled back to a GMT-800! j/k

Seriously, it makes me so happy to see that the Sierra and Silverado 1/2 tons are getting the 6-speeds finally! My waiting may be coming to an end

Just for fun, I may need to go test drive a new Canyon with the 5.3

Thanks for posting the info.

Hah, I was waiting to see who would say that first!

I think they still have some errors to fix, as those are last gen pics in the '09 guide and so are those 2 colors...or at least I think they are. Should be fixed, maybe, eventually.

I was waiting to see who else noticed

Glad to see those stupid "luggage racks" on the Sierra and Silverado are hitting the trash can! I never saw a single truck around here with them on.

The Escalade should get 450 HP, so that the rest of the GMT's can move up to 420, and lets see if Tundra can follow

Re: 2009 GMC Official Changes

Any idea of what the MPG and tow rating will be on the 5.3L Colorado? I know the 5.3 gets 15/20 in the full size trucks...hopefully 17/22 with the Colorado being ~1000lbs lighter with less frontal area.

What I am wondering is where they got the picture of the red one, bad enough it is a 800 but I do not remember the Sierra Denali being offered in Red, the Yukon was - maybe they 'chopped it.

I would still like a Dark Blue or Stealth Gray one, but the Steel Gray looks better than the Silver Birch IMO.

Agreed - Could never figure out what you would need those on a truck for anyway, other than a good hand hold for washng the roof, but then they are a pain to clean around.

Not sure of the MPG, but going by how well my Sierra performs with a 1,000 pounds less to pull around a Canyon/Colorado, it will be fun getting to wherever you're going.

That isn't off that much from the inline-5's fuel economy, GM may be on to something here.

Re: 2009 GMC Official Changes

keep in mind the Colorado, did not get the 6 speed auto to go along with the 5.3. I betting they get about the same mileage. The 5.3L 4speed mid size vs the 5.3L 6speed full size.

What gets me is the Tahoe has the optional 6.2L but the Suburban does not, and again this year all you can get in a Z71 Suburban is the same 5.3 thats now available in the mid size trucks and suv's where the smaller tahoe gets an optional 6.2L, granted the 6.2L is not available in a Z71 tahoe either, I don't get why you can't get bigger motors with the Z71 pkg in the SUVs and yet the only way to get the 6.2 in the pickups is with a Z71 pkg ??????

Yeah, it's odd packaging that has continued...and will remain baffling, even to me, who can find a "reason" for most weird things

Re: 2009 GMC Official Changes

The packaging they are offering is again retarded. When will they get with the program, the competition is eating their lunch. Every engine should be optional on every trim, same with the 6-speed. As it is, if I want an GMC EXt CAB SLE, the best engine is the 6.0 now with the 6spd, and with 4WD you no longer get 4.10 gears but 3.73. What the heck?

GM if you are listening, I want a GMC Sierra SLE Crew Cab 4WD Z71 with the 6.2liter, 6spd, 4.10's, leather bench seats, sunroof, bluetooth, Nav, remote start, power seats, and a tow package. Is it really that difficult?

Re: 2009 GMC Official Changes

I love the looks of the Z71 pkg on the Tahoes and Suburbans, I had really hoped to get a 6.2L with a 6 speed auto in a Z71 Suburban next spring when I turn in the one, that I am leasing now, that has the 5.3L and the 4 speed auto in a Z71 pkg. Looks like the only change I will be able to get is the 6 speed auto. I can't even drop the Z71 pkg and get the 6.2 in the Suburaban. Makes no sense at all that the Tahoe has an optional 6.2 but the suburban does not. They debute that 4.5 Diesel last year, and its nowhere to be found for 09'.
