Weird, my buddy has almost the identical truck...

But he bought his about 2 years ago and it was stock. He raised it himself.

That's exactly what my brother did.

Stock 1981 Chevy 3/4 Ton

Body and paint

Suspension lift and bigger meats - he did the work himself

FordRules - that's a great first vehicle you've got there. They are bulletproof.

I really wish they'd make another fullsize 2-door Blazer. Great trucks.

I wish they made them with the whole top that comes off. I think they stop that in 74. I took the top off once for a weekend. Took five strong guys to put it back on.

I'll get some pics here soon. I've got a 1979 K10 that I did a frame off restoration, thanks to a rust free body from arizona. For now its pictured in my avatar. I'm currently away for work so it will be a few weeks before I get them posted. The truck also has a GMPP ZZ383 engine and a Jasper TH350 transmission.

I thought it was a decade later than that. Same guy that now has the same truck as above had a full-size Jimmy with the removable top and I was pretty sure it was an early to mid 80's model.

EDIT: The one in the pic above is an '86 and has the removable top.

The front part of the roof came off in earlier years.

That's true. Another friend of mine is slowly working on a Blazer about two generations before that one above and the whole thing came off. Only took 3 of us to lift it on there tho.
