No way. M6 is not comparable to XLR-V. It is a 2+2 coupe.
M6 is comparable to the CL55 AMG.

I believe the XLR-V will cost around $105,000, and the new hp rating is 469

XLR-V has 443 HP, I believe. 469 in teh STS-V.
I doubt skidpad would be 0.98g... not with those tires.
I know CTS-V doesn't have a speed limiter, so I can totally buy the 170mph top speed on XLR-V,s icne CTS-V tops out at 163 mph.

As for the others... sounds plausible.

I'd take the M6, becasue personally I think it looks the best. Plus I've always liked the BMW M Series.

The cars aren't comparable, but I personally like the M6. It's like a really REALLY high end, BMW version of a GTO or Camaro.

Re: XLR-V vs M6 vs 2003 SL 55 AMG

Hmm, Interesting comparo, I agree with others that the M6 doesn't really seem to be in the same class as the XLR-V. Also, looking at the pictures, I think it would really suit Cadillac to take on a design theme similar to the Sixteen. The XLR just seems a bit out of place (design-wise), almost like it needs a bit more of an upscale design, especially when the vehicle is breaking the 100k price tag.

Cadillac has been going in the correct direction lateley, don't get me wrong, but I do believe that if it wants to compete with the likes of Mercedes, BMW, etc. that it needs to take a step into more refined design. Give this styling to Buick, the more affordable luxury company, not as refined as Cadillac, but definately deserving new styling, and allow Cadillac to take a step up design-wise, to compete with, well, the aimed for competition.

Dunno. After seeing the lines on the SL and then scrolling down and seeing the front of the M6, its either Merc or V. Plus what Chase said about the XLR.

Re: XLR-V vs M6 vs 2003 SL 55 AMG

I love the Mercedes SL 55 AMG. The sound from that 5.5 V8 Supercharged engine is simply Amazing. And it's a handsome car too. That one above, looks stunningly Beautiful. That said: Mercedes announced that next year, they will release a slightly face-lifted SL-Class and the SL 55 will be replaced by the SL 63 AMG: 6.3 V8 510 Bhp and MB says it will reach 180 Mph. The SL 55 AMG is Great car and Jeremy Clarkson will agree with me. However, the Merc has a Lamentable drawback: "Current Mercedes Reliability"...

The Cadillac XLR-V looks nice, it's a fast car and it's also cheaper than most of rivals. But I can't pass on that interior and outside NA, Cadillacs are useless in Europe...they're only LHD and they are way too big for European roads. Not to mention the assistance: Only 4 dealers in UK and none of them will service the V-series models not even the "normal" XLR.

I'd go for the Bimmer. It looks the part and I always was a huge fan of BMW M models. BMW says the Top Speed is limited at 155 Mph. Thing is though: The "electronic nanny" only steps in at 175 Mph. Top Gear tested the M5 (which has the same V10 engine as the M6) and they found out, the limiter only stepped in at 175 Mph. BMW says, that if disrestrictled, both the M5 or the M6 can reach 200 or 205 Mph.

However, I don't think this a fair comparo. The M6 Coupe is not a rival for the XLR-V or the SL 55 AMG. Comparing a Coupe with 2 Convertibles, just because they cost 100 and 120K??? come on...so the 27K Volkswagen Jetta 2.5 20V should be compared to the Chevy Impala SS V8, since they cost the same.

P.S: Why are you comparing a 2003 Mercedes-Benz with a brand new Cadillac?

Re: XLR-V vs M6 vs 2003 SL 55 AMG

i was going more on power range and and size of the car as well as style and i also found a pic of a convertible m6. despite the fact of the m6 being a 2+2 coupe/convertible (probably custom not a huge bmw buff ) i thought that it was a some what equal comparison seeing how the m6 has 507hp and 7spds.........it wont let me put the pic of the m6 on here

Re: XLR-V vs M6 vs 2003 SL 55 AMG

I am highly doubtful on the 4200lb curb weight speculated on the XLR-V. The base XLR already undercuts the stock SL bu almost 400lbs thanks to the Corvette chassis and high-tech plastic body. If the XLR-V is built on the same principle, then the XLR-V should undercut the SL55 AMG by around the same margin.

It'll still be lighter.

The Cadillac XLR wins the comparison in my opinion, hands down. The XLR looks so sweet in that picture.
