Re: What is the plan at Buick?

I dont think Buick even has a plan for when their aged consumer base finally dies out. GM China IS the future of Buick.

I'm certain wescoent meant that both:
A. Buick and Cadillac models are sold at the same dealership.
AND
B. The Buick sedan product lineup gets a serious overhaul.

The Enclave would be fine at a Cadillac dealership. It might steal some sales from the SRX and the Escalade, but it would undoubtedly steal sales from other competitors too.

The new LaCrosse would be fine at a Cadillac dealership, if it's anywhere near as good as the previews seem to indicate. Classy looking, space efficient, reasonably fun to drive, good fuel economy with 255 or 280-ish horsepower, etc...

The current LaCrosse or Lucerne? Forget it.
Exactly my point, the current lineup would be eaten alive around the likes of Cadillac. But the new and upcoming lineup would fit right in. Some suggested that Cadillac be paired with Hummer and Saab for GM's luxury brands, and with those two potentially gone (Not happy about) it opens up a space for Buick. The only thing really holding Buick back is perception. And then you'd have to figure out what to do with Pontiac and GMC. Place Saturn in those dealerships? That would effectively clear out all Saturn dealerships and would allow Pontiac to move upward, Saturn could handle smaller more efficient vehicles, and GMC would continue as it is today.

Of course the huge downfall is that most dealerships are already B-P-G. That was the suggested "sales channel" that would get rid of the idea to eliminate brands. So if you start moving brands around again, its a mess, and looks a bit like
Chevy
Pontiac-Saturn-GMC
Buick-Cadillac.

That has potential, but I wish GM really thought this through and said, this is going to be the sales channel, we're pairing these brands together and we're sticking through it. They can't keep moving brands around.

There is actually another thread on it:
The New Riviera
I'm not sure I'd like to see the Riviera name being used again on a sedan (that happened before 1963, but now, I think it really belongs to a hardtop coupe...).

But I'd sure like to get a Lexus IS or a similar product from Buick!

How about a Buick GS Stage1 ?! a Buick Wildcat .

As long as it's not a Buick ES...

What is the plan at Buick? Just like everywhere else at GM, there is no plan, at least no cohesive, comprehensible plan.

Re: What is the plan at Buick?

And Buick and Opel should be interchangable, all cars should be the same.

Don't worry they will beat both of them with the LaCrosse...if the the LaCrosse is smaller than the MkS, don't worry people don't like roomy cars anymore (at least that is what I have been told).

That can be the new Electra 150 (as in 150" long just like the naming of the original Electra 225).
