What are the Cadillac CTS's sales numbers?

Per month this year?

How do they compare to the other cars in its "class" (IS, 3-Series, C-Class and others)?

Thumbs up Re: What are the Cadillac CTS's sales numbers?

Uboys, I'm surprised you don't have a spreadsheet with all this info & jk

my favorite source for most mfgs has been www.theautochannel.com/news/archive/200805/20080501.html < current
cuz you can just check your puter's calendar for first business day of the month and type the date into the url
goes back a good number of years
BUT
just lately they seem be missing some

what I have handy:

April___ytd'08___model
5,406 -- 22,103 - CTS
11,401- 38,414 - 3 series
4,783 -- 15,673 - 5 series
6,850 -- 23,991 - C class
3,178 -- 11,774 - E class

you could also look thru the SalesResults subsection inside IndustryNews

The BMW 3 series is made in sedan, coupe, wagon, and convertible form and the CTS is only made in sedan form. Its close between the CTS and the Mercedes C class with the C just slightly edging out the CTS. Once the coupe and wagon CTS come to market we can expect to see a boost in sales though Im not sure as to how many sales would the V series add to the CTS.

also is there a parts supply issue for the CTS?

Im hoping that the CTS's monthly take will end up being between 8,000 and 9,000 units a month once its made in more body styles.

Re: What are the Cadillac CTS's sales numbers?

The last CTS-V was at about 3,100/year. There will almost certainly be A LOT more demand for the new one...especially considering it will be offered with a manual AND automatic.

Its also going to cost a good amount more which will eat into a good amount of the added demand esp. during a down turn in the economy so I wouldn't be shocked if sales were flat.

1st BMW 3 series - 38,414
2nd Mercedes C class - 23,991
3rd Cadillac CTS - 22,103
4th Lexus IS - 16,516
5th Audi A4 - 13,431

It looks like its going to be close between the Mercedes C class and Cadillac CTS for second place (I dont consider the 3 series a fair fight as its in 4 different body styles).

Re: What are the Cadillac CTS's sales numbers?

I think that the C class will probably be pushed into 3rd place either this year or next.

The new CTS coupe, V series, and possible wagons are going to do it in.

The 3 series does have several model lines, but the big seller is the plane 335i sedan, which is CTS territory.

3 series sedan sales have been inflated because BMW was selling the new model and the old model side by side replacing each model one by one. As for this year BMW sales are down by 4% although they had a few launches resulting in an increase in April sales. I believe that BMW sedan sales are around 7,000 to 8,000 a month.

I don't think so. V-series will still be limited production. Coupes, no matter how good they are, just don't sell significantly.
In fact, I'd expect V + Coupe to add no more than 1,000 monthly. I'd be surprised if it went higher than 1,500 monthly.

An extra 1,500 units a month added to 5,500 to 6,500 a month would =send sells to 7,000 to 8,000 units a month where I think that the CTS will go if not a bit higher not to mention the wagon version of the car. All in all I see the CTS selling a strong 8,000 units a month (96,000 a year).

Well, it's unfair to compare CTS sedan + coupe sales to C class (sedan only). You'd have to add in CLK sales to the C, but then, that includes the convertible which is unfair to the CTS... So really, the only fair comparison is CTS sedan to C class sedan. Also, C350s have been in limited supply so far (at least hear in CA). As that gets ironed out, the C may gain a few more sales as well.

Actually, the big seller is the 328i sedan -- wouldn't surprise me if 2/3 or even 3/4 of 3 series sedan and coupe sales are 328i (and maybe 1/2 the convertibles).

Re: What are the Cadillac CTS's sales numbers?

Cadillac and Mercedes might start eating into the 3 series sales as I dont see any new sales in this segment this year.

Re: What are the Cadillac CTS's sales numbers?

And since the CTS actually competes with the 5 and E class in terms of size, etc. it's handily out performing them in sales.

As many of us have stated, the BTS cannot come soon enough to get rid of the 3 vs. CTS comparisons for Cadillac.

Re: What are the Cadillac CTS's sales numbers?

CTS sales will get a bump when Cadillac replaces the SRX with the CTS wagon. Cadillac sold over 22,000 SRXs last year.
