Remember early in 2003 when pictures of the SRX were first released? The pre-production model was two-toned. The lower bumper and body were a darker shade than the rest of the vehicle. I thought at the time it was to make it seem more SUVish instead of a CTS wagon. But in person, I don't think the SRX looks anything like a CTS wagon.
I guess that never made it to production. Any thoughts on the subject? *I meant to put this in the Cadillac discussion, but I clicked on the wrong forum*

It never made it into production. We still have a few mules here at the plant that we use to car things around that have the two-tone. I asked about it when we were getting ready to launch the SRX, but really didnt get a good answer. I think they decided it didnt look that good/luxury in person or something. I am sure it had to do with the extra costs involved.

I don't care for the two tone at all on the SRX. I'm sure it would look good in certain colors, but no the color combo as shown.

The two-tone scheme made the SRX look fussy. It was all wrong. The SRX's visual strength comes from its blocky solidity. Two-tome paint detracted from that by breaking up the body mass. It was a good decision to drop it.

I hope that if (or is it when?) they do an SRX-V they take some of the tricks off this car and put 'em into production. The big wheels, the lowered stance, the tough rear valance details and the chrome door handles are all stellar additions. |

ok i allready asked this question but got to response on another post. Does anyone know how good the srx is doing for cadillac as far as sales. Is it profitable or is it a dissapointment? Also does anyone know when the interior is getting redesigned? i know the cts is but they have the same type of interior so shouldnt the redesign come at the same time?

I don't think the interior will be getting redesigned any time soon, though. Too bad, that was one of the main reasons my dad didn't get one ![]()
