Re: TCC Review of Buick Lucerne

What has really surprised me about these reviews is the fact that auto writers really seem to like the Lucerne's driving dynamics. Heck Edmunds said it was...wait for it......"fun to drive"! The V-8 engine will help it stand out, too.

Re: TCC Review of Buick Lucerne

I love that the only problem they had with the Lucerne is the absence of a navigational unit. That's coming real soon. Even a couple of the pics on the Lucerne's site have a nav unit in them!

The Lucerne looks really sharp even in the GM photos.

Re: TCC Review of Buick Lucerne

The Lucerne is a nice car and I am glad to see it's getting good reviews. I'm curious to see how it drives though. The grill reminds me of the Velite concept which is a good thing.

Well, this is nice. Now if they would get them to the dealers it would be even nicer.

For 36 grand, I'll take the 300C.

Re: TCC Review of Buick Lucerne

I would go with the Lucerne. Buick beats Chrysler in reliability, and I'm not a fan of the 300 styling. The roofline looks too low.

Re: TCC Review of Buick Lucerne

It's the better value.

If personal preference becomes a part of the discussion, then most people will get the ES330 because it's smaller and gets better mileage.

Re: TCC Review of Buick Lucerne

Lucerne for me. I can see why some call it bland, but I think it's really attractive. Great, simple lines from every angle. Looks best in dark colours. Nice to see a Buick V8 again (Rainier doesn't count)!

Re: TCC Review of Buick Lucerne

Looks good in pictures. Too bad they didn't name it Electra.
Should have had the 3.8 pump iron for 225 hp & 240 lb ft, and used the 3.05 or 3.29 instead of the 2.86 gears(??). I wonder why they downgrade three to eight hp, up the weight a couple of hundred, and then further handicap the 3.8 with a long gear.
Incorporating those suggestions would perhaps get its performance too close to the V8's?
Twenty one gallon fuel tank.
That IMO would make the cheaper models far more attractive vs. the competition.
If they won't engineer nav in at the beginning, they should have some aftermarket nav units available at dealerships.

Re: TCC Review of Buick Lucerne

Good review, but I still think it looks like a bloated import wannabe... And the name STILL reminds me of milk...
