There is going to need to be more of this from Buick before the Lucerne will be very succesful. Cosistantly good product across the board and Buick should advertise their commitment and awards for quality.

Hmmm, I've noticed the press has generally leaned more toward praise than criticism of this car. Perhaps I shouldn't be so harsh... but I still don't think its sales will match the combined sales of the outgoing LeSabre and Park Avenue.

Re: TCC: 2006 Buick Lucurne

It is becoming clearer and clearer that the Lucerne will appeal to a far broader range of car buyers than did the LeSabre and Park Avenue. Those vehicles are dated in design, appearance, and features, while it is obvious to The Car Connection and others that it can go head to head with the ES330 and so forth. Given the back seat space, and the modern appearance and features, it would be excellent as a family car, and excellent as a business vehicle, while it should also appeal to those trading in a Park Ave. or LeSabre.

Brovo to the Car Connection reviewer for being the first one to mention the great value offered by the CXL V8!

I don't know why the navigation system will be phased in a few months from now, but would guess that GM must be planning some sort of upgrade to their navigation system.

The praise for this vehicle includes compliments on a lot of areas that need improvement in the '06 Impala; hence, why I'm hoping that we'll soon see an '07 G-body Caprice.

I'd never buy a 3800-equipped Lucerne and can't afford the V-8, but maybe a Caprice with a better (more current tech) V-6?

I would probably have thought the same... but I also didn't think the Lacrosse would get close to there wht Century and Regal were, and it's managed that. The Lucerne seems to be a step ahead of the Lacrosse (in its own class), so hopefully it will manage the daunting task of replacing two cars.

Re: TCC: 2006 Buick Lucurne

The more I read about the Lucerne, the more I like it. I think that anyone looking for a Lexus ES330 or Toyota Avalon should give this Buick a chance, especially when you get a V8 with the latest in ride and stability enhancements available for only $36,000.

Too bad some people will pass up this genuinely good car for the lack of a Nav system. Personally I am surprised about the decision to leave it out, especially when the mid-size Pontiac Grand Prix offers one as an option.

A good first step in the right direction but GM needs to continue improving Buick.
