Surprising Performance From 1994
Hey everyone. New to the boards, long time reader. Anyways, after the ongoing discussion of performance lately with Buick and all the other subdivisions of GM, I thought id share this video with all of you. The first car I ever drove was my moms 1994 Buick Regal. It was originally rated to do 9.0s to 60 mph, and 16.5, average in 1994. So I took it to the track last spring, and was surprised to find out how underrated the car was. Interesting how they listed the car with only 170 hp. Stock 1997-2002 Grand Prix GT coupes were loosing to the regal, no joke.
www.gtpaul.com/Matt/Videos/regal157.WMV Interesting nonetheless that stock Regals, without the M90 are running the same speed 10 years later. Anyways, thanks for reading. |

Nice run Way2Slo. There's some pretty good power in those 3.8s. Good torque too. The second car I ever drove was my parents '95 (I think) Regal and even with my beginner's license some guy in a punked up Civic had to be put in it's place. I miss that car.

It would be in the 14's with that..Thanks Swa, they have some balls. I miss driving it now, as I drive an escort for some better mileage. I hate Fords.... Last edited by Way2Slo : 12-19-2004 at 12:41 AM. |

Re: Surprising Performance From 1994
My parents bought a used (80,000miles) '94 olds 88 with a 3.8. we had to have two new engines in it before they traded it on an '02 Suburban. Those are the only major engine failures I have ever heard of in that entire family of engines.
