Question REAL LaCrosse pics

Got to see the LaCrosse up close and personal today. First off, the front reminds me of a 96 Riviera I used to have. Very nice. This was the CXL model and not the top of the line CXS. The back sort of reminded me of the Olds Aurora?

Why this color is called Cardinal Red Metallic is beyond me! The GM paint guy must be color blind. When I heard the name, I thought of the RED on Cardinal birds! I was thinking maybe like Candy Apple Red! Forget it! This color is MAROON! As for metallic, I saw NONE on this car although it was in the shade.

I guess I can scratch this color off my list! I'm going to be seeing a silver one soon at another dealer. From what I understand, these are the only two colors being shipped right now. I think this is definitely going to be a car where the color will make ALL the difference.

The inside looks very comfy and nice. I didn't get in it because the car was locked and I was just thrilled that NO salesman came out to pitch his sales talk! I like all the radio/heater controls on the steering wheel.

Very nice, although it looks too light to be considered maroon.

Nice pictures! Your pictures really make the interior look even better, though the steering wheel is still ugly IMO.

GM, Then and Now... Before you go and buy a import brand car because of the perception of quality, do a little research and you will find GM has as good or better quality than most of those other brands. It's not cool to hate America people!

I think so. It's in the big Buick brochure that I have.

Yeah I'm in agreement with RCTennis. The interior looks nicer than I thought. Very nice in fact. Reminds me of my mom's TL.

Big question is will it sell to younger buyers (50-60 years old). This is a much younger looking car than a typical Buick. Buick could hope it will appeal to buyers of the Rendevous

Thumbs up REAL LaCrosse pics UPDATED!

Got to see and drive a fully loaded LaCrosse CXS yesterday. Starting with picture 13 or 14 is the car I drove. It had the Ebony interior. The other Cardinal Red and Silver LaCrosses towards the end of the album were the base models with NO chrome accents as you will see.

The car is very quiet and drove smoothly. Seemed pretty responsive. It had tilt/telescope wheel. There is NO keyhole for the trunk. It opens via the FOB OR you push the power door lock button at the top and hold it for a second. The trunk has the "shock absorber" type struts instead of the hinges.

The back seats fold down 60/40 to open up the trunk area even more. The cup holder in front has a sliding separator if you have a bigger cup- I guess. The satellite radio sounds great! This car had the back-up sensors in the rear bumper so you don't run into anything backing up. The driver's sun visor has the built-in garage door opener buttons along with 2 other buttons that will work with X-10 home remote control devices.

The moon roof opens out and up instead of into the headliner. Not sure if I like that look, but...... The glove box looks big, but when you open it, you'll be lucky if there's room for the owner's manual in there.

Now, I just have to see this car in some other colors because the "red" is not my shade of "red" and the silver doesn't do it for me. I'd like to see it in Black, White and the dark blue, but I have to wait because silver and red were the only colors that GM was shipping at first. All colors are now available, but the dealers don't have any yet.

That's it. Enjoy.

Thanks fastdriver for the pics. The more I see the LaCrosse the more I like it. And trust me, I like it alot. I look to the LaCrosse to be my next car. I'm dying to test drive it. I am going soon....maybe tommorow. It all depends if it's in yet.
Which it's probably not...

Thanks for the great photos. The Ebony interior looks great. In the photos the fake wood does not look too bad. All the reviewers keep bashing the fake wood. Is it that as bad as they say in real life? I also agree that that red is terrible. I cannot believe that Chevy and Pontiac are dropping "Victory Red" on some models like the GP and not including it on the G6. Instead they give us this suedo magenta/maroon nasty color. I like a nice Candy Apple or Pure Red, but this Sport Red/Cardinal Red sucks.

atomicshark-

I have NEVER understood the complaints about the fake wood to begin with. I don't think I EVER owned a car with real wood! Who has it- Mercedes, Rolls Royce, Maybach, BMW??????? Give me a break. These car people/testers can be a bit ridiculous sometimes. Does REAL wood have a flat finish to it? If that's the problem they have, I'm sure the shiny plastic can be made to look dull!

You're right about the color! I did see a much better RED, that was extra cost, on a LeSabre on the lot Saturday!

FWIT- I looked for the METALLIC again in this Cardinal Red LaCrosse and saw NONE here either! I really think GM is going to have to rename/rethink this color.

Question

I think the LaCrosse looks like my previous 1996 Riviera! WHY do people say it looks like a Taurus? Even if it did, what's wrong with a Taurus other than it's a FORD?

Excellent pics! I wish I'd been able to take some to go with my drive report on the LaCrosse CXS.

Whats wrong with the taurus is it has a boring design and so does the lacrosse.I just wish that buick would of spent there money wise. The lacrosse looks like its been out for 3 years. The interior could have been better but its nice overall.I'm not saying i hate the lacrosse I'm just saying they could have made it better.

Dang, if they hadn't given it the 4 headlights it would look like a Riviera CLONE.

The back end looks 3/4 view looks like a Taurus.
