Popular Mechanic's Spy Report:Buicks

Popular Mechanics speculates alot about Buick's future, and I was wondering if any of their projections/pictures are valid? None of the Buick's they propose have portholes, they don't follow the same family styling idenity and their projection for the Buick LeSabre looks like a bloated Hyundai XG350! They also predict a Buick based on the CTS!! LOL
Here are the pictures:

Those are old pictures, I have them saved on my computer from over a year ago. Popular Mechanics is usually way off anyway.

He's right. I remember seeing those pics in Motor Trend too. Nothing ever came of the CTS based buick but maybe it will happen in the future.

There are two rear-wheel drive Buick cars coming, but neither is based on Sigma (Cadillac CTS).

That's odd that they would make Buick mockups using a Honda Accord coupe and a Mercury Sable as the basis (the bottom two).

I am glad I don't waste my money on Popular Mechanics. The concepts pictures are terrible.
PM would have been better off photoshopping the Velite.

It is a chop, and that avatar will be removed when an admin notices it.

I read in one of my mags (either Motor Trend or Car and Driver, probably the former) that Buick was speculating on which rear-drive platform they would use for their Buicks. Some said Zeta was more practical since a number of GM cars would be using it. Yet some said Sigma was probably the better choice since it had the refined feel that would better fit Bob Lutz's "Lexus-fighter" vision, and is already engineered for the V-6 and V-8's (also from Cadillac) proposed for the rear-drive Buicks.
