Re: New DTS

It's a nice looking car. But, I think the Lucerne looks much more expensive.

I've seen a lot of them.

Lucerne does not look more expensive.

Re: New DTS

I'd have to say that I like the new DTS alot! In person, it's a completely different car than in the pics, which I absolutely puked at in pictures. I haven't seen a Lucerne in person yet though...

Re: New DTS

Funny, the other day I was at the Lucerne event checking out all the details of the car. I have always really liked the style of the Lucerne and I still do. I also really like the quality of the interior. But, for the first time I walked away thinking that it just didn't have enough to convert people. I hope I'm wrong and I hope it sells well.
WITH THAT SAID... I then proceeded to the Cadillac dealer down the road to check out the DTS and the Hummer H3. I have to say that before I really checked out the DTS I pretty much thought the Lucerne and DTS were just about the same. Well I was wrong. Yes, they are on the same platform and share a lot of components but the DTS is VERY BEAUTIFUL inside and out. It has another level of quality and flash that the Lucerne just doesn't have. I think that's the way it should be though. The Cadillacs should be a level above the Buicks.
Lastly, I agree that pictures don't do either of these cars justice. When you see them in person you will be surprised as how beautiful they both are. They are world class no matter what anyone says. They do need a few things though, 6 speed tranny's for one and better fuel economy for another (put a fuel management system in the Northstar, or offer the dual mode hybrid system when it comes out).
I recommend to anyone to go check out the DTS and the Lucerne CXS in person. I think you'll be impressed.

Re: New DTS

i see them all the time on the interstate comming from Atlanta Georgia.at first,i did'nt like the rear section on them, but now i see where Cadillac was going with this theme. it reminds me of the 67 Eldorado. This car has alot of "Cadillac-Retro" theme going for it.The classic egg crate grill is a beautiful touch, and not to mention the big "in your face" emblem on the nose and tail.it's a clean, and excellent design, that flat out-classes the Lincoln Town Car in every dimension.what would be nice, is for Cadillac to go to an all wheel drive set-up,6-Speed,and 320bhp for the Northstar V8.i'm 37 years old,and currently own a 94 Seville STS. i may wait awhile for the 05 STS V8(with the 18" wheels only) to depreciate alittle bit, before i buy one.either that,or the DTS.

Re: New DTS

DTS is nice looking. problem? i haven't seen one yet that was driven by anyone under 65. see 'em at our local grocery store. my 20 year old daughter threatened me with ex-communication if i buy one. looks like i am going to take a hard look at the 300C heritage edition or the STS.

Re: New DTS

I had a 06 DTS overnight for a loaner while the wifes SRX was in the shop in early December. I did not want to give it back. Nice.

Re: New DTS

I've seen a DTS. Very nice looking, much better in person than looking at pics.

I've seen two DTS's. One was for Avis car rental. Another was owned by a civilian.

Re: New DTS

When I went to delaware over the break, I saw a lot of them. I even saw three in one parking lot. They're nice, though it should have been more different from the Deville, or should have come out as a re-fresh a few years ago

But then again, all those cars have "fart burners" on them. That "fart burner" ads 5-10HP to your car ;some of those small Hondas can whip a Vett off the line. (from anti-rice.com)
So 115hp+10hp=430hp, at least in ricerland

which trim level?
i may have to put my escalade in the shop so i can try one of these out.
i'm 47 and my 20 year old daughter will take my side arm out of its holster and shoot me if i buy one.
it looks like its down to an sts-awd or a 300c heritage (if they will release it in awd)

Re: New DTS

Why would your daughter do that? The 300 is a POS.I have driven several of them(worked at a Chrysler dealership as a lot boy over the summer). There cheaper then hell.I could literally wiggle the entire center console with my finger tips. The fit and finish on these cars is terrible.Everything moves around in its place and everything is made of hard plastic.Total junk.I have had the opprotunity of driving a new DTS.There just amazing. Why doesn't she want you to have one?Go for the STS.I drove a STS-4(the top model)with the A/C seats and heated steering wheel.MRC,navi,15 speaker 5.1 Bose system. This car is kick ass without a doubt.
