It's just 2 more than what they currently have, and it will complete the "Standard of the World" image, competing against the 2 top levels of luxury: Rolls and Maybach...

Re: My Ideal Cadillac Lineup

it's a bit redundant to have two supersedans... i think a better option would be one Fleetwood, with the V-10/AWD you suggest, but then a V-series model with the V-16 and edgier styling. other than that, sounds good.

Re: My Ideal Cadillac Lineup

Hmm... I think Caddy would do better with the Sixteen that the Fleetwould if you gotta have just one ultra luxury sedan... Ok, Fleetwood is gone.

yup. kill the cien and the coupes and thats the perfect lineup. cadillac doesnt need a 800 hp supercar. thats just stupid. chrysler doesnt need one either. an xlr-v is sufficient.

heres my perfect lineup:

CTS-new one should have 250 hp standard, 300 hp as an option. the interior should be really really good. 300 hp V6 "Sport" version should have standard 6-speed.

STS- 255 hp v6 standard, then 320 hp northstar, then 350 hp "Sport". no manuals. they can keep this car the same for a while. interior should be best in class, performance doesnt hafta.

Deville/DTS: fwd? kill! fwd is for buicks! even if rwd, whats the point?

ULS: please dont call it this. please? uls is horrible. this should have a sixteen-inspired exterior, sortof a cross between the sts and sixteen. not as edgy as the cts or xlr, but more elegant and smooth. interior should be a upgrade of the sts. should be big. lots of interior features. base engine 350 hp northstar. optional 450 hp 6.0 liter v12.

sixteen: beatiful concept, but caddy dont need that.

cien: didnt like concept. see above for rest.

escalade: a&s crossed with tough muthatrucka styling. standard 350 hp 6.0 v8, optional supercharged v8 or v12 making 500 hp.

srx: suv version of sts. see above.

xlr: 350 hp northie standard. best interior in class.

V-series:
cts-v: 425 hp 6.0 v8.
sts-v: 7.0 liter 500 hp ls7. or supercharged northstar making same amount.
uls-v: 550-600 hp supercharged v12.
escalade-v: same engine as uls-v. 6 speed manumatic.
srx-v: same as sts-v. or supercharged northstar (see below).
xlr-v: supercharged northstar making 500+ hp. maybe 525.

Re: My Ideal Cadillac Lineup (Update 3)

First, I'd toss that DeVille. Then, I'd toss the Fleetwood name, and replace it with DeVille. Actually, it'd be more sensible to just ape most of the Mercedes line.

C = CTS
CLK = Eldorado/ETS (Coupe based on either CTS or STS)
E = STS
S/CL = DeVille/Coupe DeVille
SL = XLR
M = SRX
G = Escalade
Maybach = Sixteen

There's no need for a CLS, SLK or McClaren competitor I don't think.

That I disagree w/... the DeVille, Fleetwood, and Sixteen cover basically all super-luxury and up... Sixteen being pretty much the more prestigious cars out there, the Fleetwood being a Euro-killing V12 ultra luxury sedan, and the DeVille taking on the S-class/7-series/A8...

The problem with that is the Fleetwood would have little point under that plan. The Deville taking on the S/7/A8 would make it go fom 8-12 cylenders, covering a wide range. You wouldn't need to have 2 models covering that segment. Now, the Sixteen would take on the Rolls/Maybach/Arnage. That's where the ultimate in luxury range is. You won't be getting much higher than that in the price range, and there would be little point, since the market is small (albeit high-profile). So where does the Fleetwood fit in? You don't want 3 seperate models in that price range, it wouldn't pay off.

How about the Fleedwood being the V12 (and more luxurious) version of the DeVille?

Only if you toss in a longer wheelbase, like the 760iL and stuff.

Well, of course... I'll do that later when I get back... for now, off to class... be back in a couple hrs... (I hate morning classes... though this 7:20 class is better than the 6:30 class I had last quarter...)
