Is the plant flexible enough to build a Zeta car and a FWD platform simultaneaously?

Is this where DTS production is being moved?

Some of those questions were already answered in a previous press release.

Wait a second, you said that all of the press releases and Lutz quotes were wrong.

So the press release that the DT7 was on hold indefinately was wrong
the press release that the ultra 32V V8 was dead was wrong
the press release that the Zeta was too heavy and was dead was wrong
the press release that the STS will soldier on unchanged untill 2011 was wrong
the press release that the Northstar will die with the STS in 2010/11 was wrong...

Which press releases are right?

Lutz doesn't make Press Releases...
The press release was the one relating to the GM of Canada deal with the CAW.

Re: Lutz Speaks On STS/ DTS

Went to my local Caddy dealer.
Sat in the 09 STS. Reminiscing about the good old days. Me and my 06 STS4.
I then went over to the 09 DTS. Forgot how big the back seating area was.
Man, i think we are trashing these cars way too much. I think detuning the Northstar horsepower in the performance DTS was a mistake, though. But the quality and feel of these two cars is fantastic and i just think that they are not getting a fair shake. I am going to drive both again. Sometimes you just need a large sedan.

The issue with the DTS is not that isn't a great car... The issue is that it WAS a great car around 1999... This car and the Northstar power plant is so out gunned now that it is amazing that these cars sell at all. Sadly this Cadillac ONLY sells to octegenarians who have bought Caddys for the last 40 years. Cadillac desperately needs a NEW car in this class that competes with the best of Lexus and MB and focus on customers in their 40's, late 30's.

With regards to the STS, honestly, my personal opinion of the STS means nothing to GM... I'm only one lost sale (deferred actually) that this car's "wacky" design has cost them... You can't please everybody... BUT the sales numbers of the new STS (they are REALLY BAD) should be SCREAMING at GM and Cadillac brass to FIX this car... It IS an engineering masterpiece... it IS a design DISASTER.

GM dominated this market only 10 years ago... Lack of product and refusal to "fix" mistakes have resulted in a Division that I love, drive and own... with one car that sells in any numbers.

Bringing more smaller Cadillacs might help with the Divisions profitability... and to that I say GREAT... But I'm not in the market for a car as small as the CTS, I need a car as big as my current STS... No new big car, and I'm going to follow the rest of my family and shop somewhere else.

Great post 2002 Caddy.
Too bad that you don't like the current STS design. Great car to own and drive. I wish that the long wheel base version was on sale here......
