Hemmings Find of the Day – 1981 Cadillac Eldorado Evolution

An article from Hemmings blog about a rare 1981 Eldorado customized by Pierre Cardin, seems then the 1973 AMC Javelin wasn't the only Cardin http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/2...ado-evolution/

I remember something about these. I'm glad Monsouir Cardin didn't give up his day job to pursue auto design.

Re: Hemmings Find of the Day – 1981 Cadillac Eldorado Evolution

I've seen a couple of these Eldorado Evolutions come up at auction over the last couple years, though I didn't have the chance to really examine either of them up close. If I remember correctly, neither of the two I saw met the reserve price at auction...

I don't quite remember where the bidding stopped, but I believe it was about $25k... Neat cars!

Okay, who thought it would be a good idea to attach a Dodge Mirada front clip to an Eldorado...........?

Also who thought an extended front overhang was an aesthetically pleasing design addition?

Probably got one of his Chinese factories to design the mods.

Proportionately, that nose is way too long. Too much going on in front of the front tires.

A bar and TV in the back of a Cadillac is pretty sweet, especially for 1981, but with a coupe . All that luxury accessed by ducking and diving to get there and stumbling out and without much room back there to start with. Hand stitched leather, real wood, and gold accents don't do much for the backseat passengers in a personal luxury coupe like the Eldorado

I don't know the laws but I don't think it's legal to use the bar and consume alcohol in the back of a coupe without a partition (I figure limo's are okay because of the partition).
