Enclave Best Family Hauler CUV on CNNMoney.com

It's short and you can argue with some of the picks but any good press for the Lambdas and GM is always good.

Of course I posted before I looked close and should have said Acadia instead of Enclave. Maybe the mods can fix.

Quote:
Until now it was hard to find a vehicle with a genuinely comfortable third row of seats that wasn't a minivan. Even in the largest SUVs, a cramped knees-to-chin back seat was common - and explained away as "just for kids."

Pity the children. General Motors did, and thus brought out new three-row crossovers with way-back seats that accommodate even full-grown adults. They're also easy to get into, with no arm-twisting flop-down, flip-forward routine. Just pull a lever and the second-row seats smash themselves flat up against the backs of the front seats. Then walk on in.

Available in three flavors - the crisp, all-business GMC Acadia, the slightly softer Saturn Outlook and the curvaceous Buick Enclave - the GM crossover rides and handles astonishingly well for a vehicle so spacious.

Aggressive drivers may find the six-speed transmission a bit too shy about downshifting, but for the most part it performs very well in daily driving.

Has anyone in the world ever made a transmission that has not somewhere received one of the following comments:

1. It is shy about downshifting, and stays in gear too long; or

2. It downshifts too quickly, and is always hunting for the right gear.

Look around look around long enough, and I will bet you can find that most transmissions have received both comments.

As an owner of a Lambda -- Enclave -- I can tell you it's a dream. I can't believe how much I love this vehicle. And the looks it gets. Folks simply adore it.

When GM finally puts a minivan onto Lambda they'll do much to reclaim part of that market. It's an awesome platform. With the new Chev coming out I doubt GM will have enough capacity to build all the Lambdas people will want. I know a number of folks waiting for an inexpensive Chev version, finding the Enclave just too pricey. All well and good for me, I prefer not having something too common .

Even though I'm sure the Traverse will be a big hit, with all of Spring Hill dedicated to building the Traverse, I'm thinking they will have enough capacity.

Glad the love affair with your Enclave is still going strong!

The Enclave has turned a lot of my friends' perception about Buick right around. They'd seriously consider owning one if they needed a large family hauler. Last fall, when I ordered it, most didn't think they'd ever want a Buick in the garage. Things do change.

And everyone loves the interior. One friend quipped: Why can't the Japanese build interiors this nice in the family haulers and crossovers? He loved the Art Deco touches.

The Enclave and Lamdas are excellent. They deserve the good press that they get.
