    Cadillac XLR Interior

Since so many people are unhappy with the Cadillac XLR's interior - Post a picture or two of your ideal roadster/sports coupe's interior...

In other words.. Post a picture of what you think the Cadillac XLR interior SHOULD look like.

XLR's interior isn't that bad, but there is a lot of room for improvement.

Is that an Aston Martin interior? Looks amazing! Especially the type of material over the instrument cluster.

    Yeah. It's the DBS interior.
I believe that material is suede. The M3 seems to have a suede dash now as well.

Isn't the DBS something like $200k+?

    No clue on DBS's pricing.
DB9 is $165,000... so DBS could be ~$180,000+.

It'll be really cool to see what the interior of the next generation XLR is lilke. After seeing the 2008 CTS and that being a much less expensive car, I have really high hopes for the next XLR.

    Re: Cadillac XLR Interior

I always the dug the Allante digital dash, especially at night, it's like the Las Vegas strip.

The XLR dash could use and update, along with the rest of the car, I dont dislike the dash now, I just hope that they keep making improvements to this car to keep it relevant.

I hope that there are plans underway already for a new XLR in 2009-2010.

I would like to see them offer more engine combos like Mercedes does on the SL, i.e n/a V8, Supercharged V8, V12's etc.

    Re: Cadillac XLR Interior

that Aston interior is a masterpiece without a doubt, but posting it here was pointless because it belongs to a much more expensive car than XLR.
The Jaguar interior is OK but use of too much wood makes it tacky.
I think Caddy XLR should have got the Evoq concept interior :

    Re: Cadillac XLR Interior

I've never liked the Jag interior. It just doesn't flow. The Aston has a nice interior, and I can't see it being all that expensive. A suede dash isn't tens of thousands.

The Evoq interior is nice, and give the futuristic design of the Cadillacs it should have been the inspiration for all the Cadillac interiors. However, the Cien's interior is what the XLR should have.

I still think that XLR body could fit onto a Corvette frame, with minor tweaks (move the greenhouse back about a foot or so). And, yes, I know the Cien is mid engine, but the adjustments would still leave a gorgeous car and a perfect body for the Z07. I'd rather have a front-engine Cien than a $100,000+ Corvette.

    Re: Cadillac XLR Interior

I don't see the point of flogging Cadillac interiors with Jaguar's. They're throwbacks. Nice materials and all, but not very interesting. If Jag interiors are so great, then why are sales half of what they were only 3 years ago?

I feel the judicious use of a few chrome bead moldings would help the XLR. The absolute worst bit is the passanger side of the IP. That huge, plain sheet of whatever, with a little trench molded across it and that insulting little "XLR" badge at the right. Who thought THAT was a good idea?

Other than this, I rather like the XLR interiors design. It's modern. Not retro, or a copy.

    Greetings megeebee,

I very much like Cadillac's XLR interior and exterior. And my XLR's interior is in Ebony which even looks more monochrome and looks more reserved in comparison to the color combination of this contrasting color scheme. I prefer the Ebony, a more monochrome look with less wood, which is the styling treatment of the 2005 XLR. I certainly would say this high tech contemporary look and feel of Cadillac's XLR interior is not for everyone. I believe it compliments the stealth, modern sharp line styling of the exterior. Again the exterior styling is not for everyone, this is a very aggressive design and it will connect with your styling preference or it will not.

I view Cadillac's XLR as one of the very best styled and design performance luxury roadsters on the planet, bar none. I like other luxury models as well, but just not to the degree as Cadillac's XLR.

There's one problem with this interior, the placement of the HVAC controls, they are blocked by the gear lever.
