Re: Cadillac Voyage Concept
So it took 20 something years to get from that concept to production.
Wowzers. So Caddy had all this YEARS AGO!! And nothing was done about it. Looks like a 91-96 Caprice. Front fender skirts!! YEAHHH!

Re: Cadillac Voyage Concept
WTF?!
They had all that way back then and they're just putting it into cars?? Kinda makes you wonder what GM's building now that won't be used for 20-some years...

Re: Cadillac Voyage Concept
Cien...Sixteen...hell, they havent built a world class V8 powered midsized sedan in...um...ever?
Realize that Caddy is in uncharted territory. In related news...I wish Caddy would put the LS3 in the CTS.

Unless you mean a regular CTS. In which case it would be pretty sweet.

Good point, except the Cien has 12 cylinders and the Sixteen has.....um.....hold it.......16. So whats your point? Concept cars that sit on a turntable are one thing, making something that is going to be used day in and day out every day by somtimes the lowest common denominator. Or would you have rather have them rushed some more poorly planned ideas into production only to have to continue working on them while other manufacturers learn from GM's mistakes? Hell GM has had a HUD on Pontiacs since 1989 an it was only until a couple of years ago that holy of holys BMW offered on, and then it was on the M5 and M6. Re: Cadillac Voyage Concept
Thanks much! The year it came out I was blown away and even now I find the profile stunning...am using that as my wallpaper after someone here recently shared a link to a site with concept pics. That fall, a front view was on the cover of Auto Week with the bold title "The Car Cadillac MUST Build"...the guy who owns Dominos pizza tried to write Roger Smith a check for something like $20 million to pay back all the development costs right there on the Detroit Auto Show floor. Roger Smith declined the check AND killed both the Voyage and sister car Solitaire before negotiating for himself a sickeningly huge retirement package (after having ravaged GM and laying off thousands of workers) and leaving GM. At one point this car WAS to have been launched as a 1991 model....I am convinced that had it and the Solitaire been built, Cadillac would have not begun to sink in sales and prestige. Even today, both cars would look awesome on the road or in a parking lot. Sadly, GM's penchant for NOT putting into production its best concepts, including those by Cadillac (Cien, Sixteen) continues...and they wonder why they languish as others leap frog past them year after year.

Re: Cadillac Voyage Concept
The Voyage did have an effect on production Cadillacs. I see a lot of its influence in the '94 Deville.

Re: Cadillac Voyage Concept
I wonder if there is a similar video about either the Cadillac Solitaire or Pontiac Pursuit?

Re: Cadillac Voyage Concept
Interesting car to say the least, but again far from my kind of car. It seems it was designed at a time when aero trumped all. It looks like the Cadillac of priuses.
