Cadillac V6 DI Bi-Turbo?
I keep up with the daily auto blog's, but in doing so, one question has gone unanswered for me.
Does Cadillac have any plans for a turbo or bi-turbo version of their new DI V-6? To me, this type of engine in a CTS-Coupe would be real competition for BMW. Thank you to anyone with information. |

Re: Cadillac V6 DI Bi-Turbo?
That would probably make for a rather costly engine plus they already have the V series making gobs of power so why would they trump on that. Also the compression ratio on the SIDI 3.6L is 11.3:1 so they may have to lower the compression in order to properly turbo it to get any real power.

Saab has a TwinScroll 2.8 HF. So, it shouldn't be too difficult to put it into the 3.6L.... or even a 4.0L.

Can you explain what you mean by LSx DOHC engine..do you mean LSx block with DOHC heads on it , or DOHC engine with same size of LSx engine..or Dohc engine which share some parts with LSx CIB engine? Since v8 dohc was canceled i think GM will try to fill gap between 300 hp V6 and V series. V6 with Twin turbo can be one of the way to do this or V8 similar in GMC concept ( 4.9 l V8 with DI )and also maybe with forced induction the other way. |
